My sister did the same thing. When I was df'd she wrote me a 'dear john' letter, stating quite emphaticaly that 'this was the last time, she would ever speak to me'.
Well she has stuck to her guns.......Yet I can tell from your story, you like me, would in an instant be there for them if they just would return to humanity.

You have hit on pet peeve of mine.
My sister/bro in law are in the District work. When my aunt (da'd) back in Rutherford's day, died they were first in line to take their share of her estate. Although while she was alive, they pretty well ignored her, with little if any common familial love.
It is an established fact, that most if not all jw's have a switch in their brain circuits that allows them to accept money, goods, or services from the Devil himself.......yet do so without a blink of conscience.

i have a distant cousin, 15 and in a wheel chair.
she's always saying how she can't wait until the new system comes when finally she'll be set free from her handicap and can run around with joyful glee.
it breaks my heart knowing this is never gonna happen and makes me even more angrier.

Maybe your exposure to this site has awakened some suppressed doubts, or at least drawn some to your attention. Believe me most of us will relate if that is true.
Having the paradise earth rug pulled out from under you, is no picnic. The jw's are really no different than any other religion, preaching a life after death reward. Just a different approach, style. It all ends up in the same basket........someone (usually a crusty old 'white' man, or group of crusty old) sitting in their 'armchairs' with delusions of God's special favor upon them.
Funny isn't it, that the majority of these religious leader's like Russell, were charismatic, with money enough to spread their message.
People throughout the ages have turned over their lives and fortunes for just the PROMISE of paradise. Is it any wonder 6 million have as jw's........not really.

We call them 'bed pans' or 'honey buckets'.............honestly I prefer 'piss pots'......it sorta rolls off the tounge in an unaccustomed british accent....without even trying.

oftentimes when i am preparing for an instructional course, i go looking for a sample completed form.
in order that my students are not led astray, i try and find the perfect sample.

I remember the atmosphere in the 'Chairman Office' at those district conventions. It was a palpable 'air' of superiority that the brother's (usually designer suits) and sister's (most hair quaffed to perfection)..........when you made it to that dept. you were in like Flynn.

when i dropped off my daughter the other day at the daycare, there was a little boy sitting on the floor crying.
almost everyday there's at least one kid doing that... pining away for their mommy... so i didn't think much of it.
they stop crying soon enough.
