Every time I read more of your research, it keeps getting clearer and clearer...in my mind (very foggy) how duped most of us former christian zealots were.

Jw's seem to pride themselves with the notion that they are very pragmatic, not subject to whims of fancy or 'virgin' sighting's, that is another dishonest appraisal. From 1874 thru 1975 they have literally bombarded r&f with every sort of sighting, predictions, promises, and false hope. Involving almost every faceit of life, aluminum cookware, vaccinations, blood, education, grooming, you name it they have made some ridiculous claim or insight...only later having to revise or completely abandon the teaching.
'BS' was one of those special JW mysteries, that inspired old timers (those active since early 1900's) who were used to all of Russell's Pyramid, photo dramas, miracle wheat, fantasies that excited the r&f. Rutherford acting similar to other notorious cult leaders (Hubbard, Jones, Ammie Sempel McPherson(sp?), Armstrong,Franz et al) realized they needed to keep the brother's and sister's agitated and excited. What better way then to tell them their contributions to the work, would allow him to prepare a place for 'the ancient worthies'?
Yes, I do remember talk about still having expectations of seeing this fantasy realized. I know I was probably 6-10 year old, which would put me in the years 1955-1958. I can still recall the 1953-54? convention in New York City we stayed in the 'tent city' I have vivid memories. On the train from Los Angeles to New York in 1958, half or more of the passenger Jw, for three days hearing all sorts of talk about what this assembly may portend. JW's don't have sightings of virgins, but they have a whole slew of other religious propaganda, to satisfy the void! '144,000, spiritual paradise, loving organization, 1,000 year reign, paradise earth, faithful and discreet(oxymoronic as respects them)slave class', long lists of classes to set one above another, on and on.

Glad you can finally say 'I can now be me'....isn't it just pure delight? No more guilt complex, about every little move. No more stupifying drone of meeting after meeting. It is like finally coming out into the light of day...after being in soletary confinement for 30 years in my case.

It has always struck me how blatantly dishonest the society has been regarding the summer (white house) vacation home of Predident Rutherfraud. Your quotes prove that assertion.
I remember being very excited about the 'prophetic' expectation of seeing the ancients of old...coming back...baggage in hand, looking for a place to stay. Even though it never happened, as a good little jw boy...I recall thinking to myself, well the Judge was just off on the dates, they will come back at anytime. Childish fantasy...but he got away with it!
Beth Sarim to me is absolute proof, that this organization was founded upon nothing more than several very talented 'salesman'...who stooped to whatever 'lie' or misrepresentation, to get what they wanted. How else could the Judge raid the general funds of the WTBS to build his California Casa, without embellishing the project with God's purpose on earth.

I suppose it's people like you, that give us insentive to continue to reveal the untruths regarding the 'truth'. I made my first post back in January of 2000...you will feel the heavy burden lifting as you put down in writing, all the myriad of loose thoughts that bombard our minds as former cult addicts. Every time you read someone's comments that almost inevitably reflect your own...it reinforces your resolve, never again, never again...to allow any organization, or representitive to wield so much power over your mind.
Unfortunately we will all wear the brand of WT seared in our brains, some more or less for the rest of our lives. Having a community of fellow survivors, who really do understand, is really helpful on those days....you are feeling really lonely for old friends and family...it does get better.
So jump right into the fray...join us and let us know what your thinking.

in a thread below, fred, in a quite daniellesque manner, sought to detract from ray franz's credibility because ray did not promote the wts' preaching activity.. firstly i have to say that fred is not in the easiest position.
he is a wts apologist of sorts and whereas he might have some support on some other boards like great crowd or wol where his non-sequitors would go quite undetected, he finds it hard going here.

I agree H20 has lost its luster, for many reasons. Glad you came over.
I never really had a full picture of your circumstance until this post. You have a real dilema on your hands, eh? Hope that your wife will someday see the light. It appears the WTBS can no longer keep us quiet, no matter how much they decry the internet as tool of Satan...they still must maintain their own website, and sell used CO/DO cars on Circuit Leasing.com. What a joke...they just can't have their cake...blah blah...can they?
Simon has put together a little community of some very decent folks, very little rankor or name calling going on around here. I like it. I was over the limit of nastiness quotas at H20. Lets hope we newbies do not disturb this atmosphere...I know I will.

So you have had 13yrs of a relatively sane and normal life. You are one of the more fortunate one's. Able to grow as an adult outside the 'mind chains'....but Iam sure you are still haunted by all the same jibberish, that the rest of us...'lifer's'...deal with.
We have little red foxes living in a den, not far from our house. I have to keep 'Lucky'(kitty) inside, for fear they will catch him. They are really cute little buggers, and I know where the expression 'sly like a fox' comes from. Iam happy to have them around.

That was fun chatting last night. Getting to hear from Amicus regarding old friends from the 70's was also a treat. That is one part of extracating yourself...or being booted...from the Org that is a real tragedy...loosing all contact with friends,let alone family. Like others have said here recently, its not the people we despise, its the ORG dummy!

I wish that I would have paid more attention, during those many family getogethers wherein, many of these early days at Bethel were discussed. My sister retains many 'covert' photographs of some of the Judge's excess. As you can well imagine, mom and dad, were not very forthcoming about all the 'messy' stuff...both loyal 'anointed' jw's to the end. Surely if any of my family reads these posts, they will be chagrined to say the least. I have decided it is their problem, not mine. They choose to remain subjects of a man-made organization, whose very roots are moldy and decayed.
I realize now more than ever, how dishonest and corrupt the entire operation really is. The r&f well trained and indoctrinated to protect the ORG at all costs. Thanks to JR,FF,NK, for this perverse attitude. Hayden Covington was at least honest under cross examination, admitting that every Jw must submit to ORG teaching whether right or wrong. Getting the average Jw to see this shame is a total different matter, eh?
I to would like to hear more of Larc's relative Aunt Berta if she can recall. Especially relating to the Judge's final days in San Diego.
