though i may, on more than a few occasions, have questioned whether or not i wanted to be one of jehovahs witnesses and i may at some point decide that i dont, i can assure you that i would never contact you again.

Hey you big wussy, so the lady who took advantage of your time, emotions, hearfelt advice, then decides to critisize your annonymous posting of her comments, turns like a she-devil on ya. Yeah it makes perfect sense, NOT.

Typical of jw's to turn around the whole affair, making you feel like a dog for responding to HER PLEA for help. Jeez man, don't you remember how the brother's/sister's at the hall pulled that sort of caca all the time? Making people squirm with guilt for making personal choices, about everything unrelated to them. Type of car you drive, clothes you wear, tone of voice, early or late for meetings, somehow some elder, elderess, ms or his wife with pms, would on the drop of hat, offer some caddy, snide remark about not measuring up in some' theocratic way'.

She is a typical jw, schooled well in the art of slagging off responsibility. Satan, worldly, weakness of the flesh, you name it they will allow themselves all sort of leeway. But YOU violate thier PERCEPTION of what is right, be prepared to be shunned.

That is just how this lady has treated you. Shunning comes easy to them, or have you forgotten already?

If you pick up and leave us, because of this selfish, thoghtless jw, you will have allowed another jw to have power over you. I thought you were done with that.

Shouldn't one of your first questions be; Is the Bible actually what it is touted to be?

If you cannot without a single doubt accept it to be God's words, then why even try and interpret it?

Of course if you believe that it is 'inspired' of God, then why must God have or need anyone to interpret for him?

Is he that lame? Requiring puny man or a group of men to help him express himself?

a few days back a dfed black woman came to this site - asking for help and looking for answers, so lady "c and myself decided to offer our help, being black we understand that black jw face some issues that a white witness would not, black congo operate many times in a somewhat different fashion in my exp at any rate , we offered our help, we discussed many issues, but in the end she has decided to return back to wt despite the fact that they treat her like dirt- one of the hardest things to watch is to see a jw get so close to freedom and then return to slavery, it reminds me so much of blacks during slavery who were just afraid to run for freedom , even many times when they only needed to cross the river -as a single black mature woman she is facing an uphill battle, if she approaches an elder more than 2 times the elders wife will think she is after her man, if she wants to marry her selection is reduced to some guy with a plaid suit on, instead of the regional director of her company who notices how intelligent she is, but since he don't sell books on the weekend she must let him slide- well here is just a glisp of what we dealt with and how sadly it ended with the jw doing what they have been trained and indoctrinated to do run and deny below are just 3 different sets of dialog .

Although I can relate to your showing compassion, for the covetous 'juice' thief......and the corresponding thoughts relating to the ancient men of God having no volumes of scripture to refer to, it still remains, that without 'the bible' you would have no basis, or authority, for your witnessing. Can you see my point?

Thanks for mentioning my good fortune with the daughter's. Iam so pleased. My oldest and her new husband of less than a year, are going to meet T and I in San Francisco next month. We will spend a few day's doing the tourist thingy.......taking them to my all time favorite restraunt anywhere..."Tommy Toy's" a grand eatery if there ever was one.

Someone said that if your wife could empathize with Schnell she would surely appreciate Franz. He is so right.

I first read '30yrs a Wt slave' in my early teens as a very loyal dub. Since my mother and father were at Bethel when Schnell was there, I asked them about him. Mom said that he was a bethel typist. She remembered that he always made a big issue out of wanting to be known as the NO 1 TYPIST. I guess you had to be there.

Anyway his style and presentation seemed to be very harsh, if there ever was an example of a disgruntled ex Schnell fills the bill.

I think JT was refering to 'black congregations' that were so due to location, rather than segregation.

You are so right about segregation tho, when I was pioneering in the deep south Georgia in the late 60's, there were in fact seperate congregations. Funny thing the white congregations would go door to door in the black communities.....any studies or interest would eventually be directed to the appropriate hall.

Segregation was alive and well at least into 1969.......four years after 'Ceaser' had passed legislation against it in the public arena.

Could this be it? I believe you are right on Tj.

My lady attended Baptist youth school in her early teens, she decided that it was not for her, but she remember's bible stories, and can converse with anyone about christianity. She made a choice after giving it due consideration. Perhaps that is all any of us need, the choice.

It is this insipid need or dogma of most religions, that keeps one chained to a particular 'life style' or 'way' that seem to mire mankind in all sorts of intolerant bigotry.

I liked this simple thought.........'eventually comes to an end'

Well Shell at least when you disagree, you still shower enough love and dear one's around to make it bearable.

I suppose if individual's espousing Jesus way, would leave out all the scriptural admonitions it would be less offensive to me, but it alway's seems that the discussion slides back to the bible. Once one has decided the bible is not a serious reference of God's own words, it is mute.

To date I have not witnessed one 'follower/seeker' whatever you want to designate them as, who does not revert to this 'circlular' form of argumentation.

Let me ask you a question. Could you simply tell other's about your Jah-Meshca/Saviour without resorting to the bible as a basis for belief? I don't think you can. In fact it would be impossible for you to do so.

Getting around this BIG hurdel, is what most 'believer's' seem to just ignore. Almost to say, that when someone says they don't believe the bible is the word of God, they, the non-believer, is lieing. Or at the very least the believer continues to quote more scripture, as if to say, by sheer weight of volume, that HERE READ THIS and then you will believe. Well humpty dumpty.........what silly logic is that?

Not trying to be a smart ass Shell, it all just makes no sense to me. Although I think you have the right to hold and treasure your beliefs, I must draw the line at making any inference, that the said belief is in fact 'the way'.

Hello TJ,

Longtime no talk.

I must admit I now regret having sent that post/responses. My oldest daughter encourages me to try and establish a common ground again. When I do, I will never make that mistake again. I would rather have an open door, than have no opportunity to have a relationship with her at all.

Getting a loved one free from 'the cult' is not worth, losing them forever.

I will proceed with severe caution in the future.
