How Sad

i have a distant cousin, 15 and in a wheel chair.

she's always saying how she can't wait until the new system comes when finally she'll be set free from her handicap and can run around with joyful glee.

it breaks my heart knowing this is never gonna happen and makes me even more angrier.

Jw's love to spout off about the parable of the prodigal son. Funny how the father upon immediately seeing his errant son approaching home, threw open his arms, invited everyone over for a big home coming party, and simply made it very easy for the son to return to his family.

There really is little excuse one can find for the 'shunning policy' of jehovah's witnesses.

Instead of encouraging your resolve to return, it has had an oppisite affect on you. That should be a 'bell ringer' when trying to decide if they are in fact what they claim to be..........'the truth'.

Again thanks for clarifying your 'issues'.

Me to. Yet since Brummie has such a penchant for being so damn cute (a true guise or exuse me disguise) I had to give him some 'logical fallacy' for the sake of his ruffled fur and bow tie. Those damn youngin's were kicking the cat around.........and Iam a particularly sensitive 'cat lover' myslef.

I dunno about going over to BigTex's house........people show up there and all of a sudden get married......join the tank corps......get drunk(a concept I can relate to).....then every wed nite practice the proper use of 'scepters' and proper angel of crown attire....this is not your ordinary 'book study'!

I guess what Big Tex, Xena, are trying to say is a little bit of semantics.

Laws are defined by words like manslaughter, murder in the first degree etc etc.

So to be completely accurate one could possibly say, the fds of the wtbs is at the very least, guilty of conspiring to promote the means (spirit directed, bible interpretation) for causing death or protracted illnesses. all wrapped up in the guise of what God purportedly says about blood, transplantes, and acceptable medical procedures.

I did not even understand what I was trying to say.......in other words they are damned murderers

I can only say I hope your expectations are fulfilled. I could only hope to be so convinced. For the prospect of a paradise earth is indeed a beautiful concept.

Funny, my youngest daughter, still a jw said apprx the same thing to me very recently. I had forwarded a sad story related here that I thought mirrored her own experience as a jw youth. She wrote me back saying that the elders in her congregation handled her with much love and affection..........so I can relate to your having a hard time with some of the stories related here.

Anyway the fact that you are here tells me that you are searching for answers. The questions you have may not be obvious to me or others, but I think you have some issues not fully resolved. Am I right?

It was so easy Brumm, the several times I visited Bethel and personally met and talked to various gb member's, the thought of these obviously serious, intent, men being anything other than what they portrayed the remotest consideration.

Walking through those doors in Brooklyn is similar imo to an academic, walking through the gates of Oxford, Harvard, it is almost sacrosanct. Emotions garnered from years of mind warping conditioning, building up to an almost worshipful view of the Holy of Holies...........Brooklyn Heights (now Patterson NJ) and those who reside there.

Not much to argue here for anyone with the least bit of reasoning ability.

Of course our jw lurker's here may take exception to the headline. Are you testing the waters of 'logical fallacy'?

As a jw my response to you would be; The fds is being led by God's Spirit, they are simply giving the most current understanding of the scriptures. They (fds) are all sincere, loving, God fearing men, trying to give counsel and spritual food at the appropriate time.

So this appology serves to excuse whatever misleading or outright lie they may proclaim. They are only imperfect men Brummie.

Howcome the WTS does not include personal testimonies...

howcome the wts does not include personal testimonies in their meetings (i mean, ones that have not been edited by the writing department)?

oftentimes when i am preparing for an instructional course, i go looking for a sample completed form.

in order that my students are not led astray, i try and find the perfect sample.

I was talking to my lady this morning about this very thing. One of my jw family members died yesterday.....

Her reaction was one of total disbelief. The sheer gual almost bordering on evilness of this practice of using someone's hour of grief, to 'give a sales pitch' is beyond the average non-dubs capacity to understand.

I think Pamk related where an elder assigned to give the funeral talk, actually would not allow her to read the poem she wrote, and then to top it off, changed her words of what little he did share with those attending.

Yet these self-righteous 'proclaimer's of the kingdom' see nothing in the least wrong with such conduct. They seem blinded to even the most traumatic of lifes events....death..... doesn't even phase or deter them from their mandated mantras.
