ER. This is going to sound strange but ER was one of those things that regularly had me questioning my belief in god & the WT beliefs. For about 2 series, it seemed to have a profound effect on my thinking about certain matters. Daft eh? Yea, but never miss it. Love it more than anything.

It's all becoming so clear now. My wife will never leave the witnesses

After 3 years of mental liberation for me, I feel that I am a fairly well rounded out person now. Very happy within myself. My wife & I have had our ups & downs the past 3 years. One thing is now clear to me & I am slowly coming to terms with it; My wife will never leave the 'truth'. No matter how calmly I explain fundamental points about the religion that are not only inconsistent but wrong. No matter how much she feels bored & tired out by the JW lifestyle. No matter how more depressed she becomes. NOTHING will prompt her to do what I did. She's in for good. I just have to deal with it & help raise our JW exposed kids as best as I can. I really love my wife. It can be hard.

The witnesses are such loving people. What a horrible thing to think about. I actually feel that somehow, they are ALL mentally touched in some way. Thinking like that is just not right by most peoples standards.

Oh, and I agree that a lot of elders would be falling over themselves to fulfill this role. In the area I live, I can think of one individual who is a 'wannabe CO'. Has been for years. And he is a bully & a manipulator. He will be spraying his pants at the thought of this position (pardon the pun).

JW's obsession with other peoples sex. Are their practices normal?
by jambon1 init disturbs me how religious people seem to have an obsession with what the rest of humanity does in the bedroom.
for instance, i have always found the thought of 3 men having an 18 year old girl describe to them her sexual exploits far more weird than her actual sexual exploits.
how can any father let their daughter go into a room and discuss intimate matters with 3, what i would call, perverts.

I feel that if the world in general knew that these sort of things take place within the JW comunity, they would be shocked & appalled. So rather than 'the world' being perverted, I would say that my conclusion is that the WTS and those who sit on JC's are the ones who are waaaay off the mark, to say the least. Filthy, dirty, bastards!

The teachings and information that you learn as a study is far different to the 'hardcore' information/doctrines that you are exposed to when you progress through the natural course of becoming a JW.
