...or so it begins.. firstly, pre-1991 ex-jws (a term which i find preferable to apostates) felt fairly isolated from one another, had few lifelines to the outside world, and were unlikely to find out much more than whatever they left because of.

hearing experiences of people returning to the borg after a horrible experience on the outside was not uncommon at all.

without a support structure and generally having lost even family support through the disfellowshipping/disassociation policy, returning seemed the only way to establish a modicum of stability.

in it, he denies wt publications, refuses to read wt articles and quotes claiming they come from "apostate" websites, etc.

it is about 10 minutes long.

it seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.

this leads to understanding and concern.

i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

Private schools or what?

Ok, so my Son is 4 years old. His mother and I are not together and have a so so relationship as parents. This will soon be changing since I will soon be living in the same small town and not almost 2 hours away.

Something we have talked about and disagreed on repeatedly is the subject of public verse's private schooling. She is Catholic and I must admit I really do not know much about that religion. I hold the belief that my son will use his own reasoning and judgement to decide what or even if he is going to practice a religion, when he is old enough that is. I do not want to push any religion on him. Oh and btw, I am not religious at all.

I also do not know much about public verses private schooling either. What I do know is that the only private school in our area is catholic and costs a considerable amount of money. I went to public schools and the schools in our area are good compared if he were to go to a public school in the Twin Cities.

This is not really a money issue, granted I am far from rich but will work however many jobs/hours I have need to provide a good balanced education for Junior. I didn't have it..he will.

I guess my question is; is it worth subjecting him to a religous sided education? Are private schools that much better? Pretty much anything info on the subject would be greatly apprecitated.

if you were a jw male and heard the screams of a jw female being raped, are you allowed to intervene physically? I mean, you MIGHT end up bloodguilty. Murder and fornication are equally wrong, no? I guess it's one of those conscience grey area things.

I am just guessing this is NOT your stance. If it is...sorry.

If a man heres a woman being raped and does nothing to stop it, to me your not much better than the rapist. If it were me and the guy fell and got a bo bo on his head and died. I could sleep with the bloodguilt..Nooo problem. Sorry, I am not speaking of the WTS view on this. It makes me sick that it is a "grey area"

Self Defense- umm..its defending yourself against physical harm. That doesn't mean I would deck someone for calling me a bad name (unless it was a dub elder, that would be fun).
