one thing we all have in common - everybody who started posting on jwd , were all " new " posters in the beginning on this board.
so take yourself back in time for a minute - how were you received here ?
did people welcome you warmly ?

a huge announcement will be made in the end of watchtower study next weekend.
we may post here the main issue soon.
One less meeting night can only be a good thing. Let's hope it's true.

i'm not sure if this really a jehovah's witness or just someone trying to make them look bad.
notice his facial expressions as he warns about apostates.
Watching that video reminded me of this thread which talks about how cult members have a cult personality and an authentic personality.
I thought the same thing.
This kid is creative, funny and has lots of imagination. He's had the misfortune of being born into a JW family.

so, the people in my congo expended hours and hours distributing the invitations, but the attendance was the same as always (actually a little less than other years).
how about your congo?

In the congregations I've heard about, memorial attendance was considerably lower than last year.
my great nephew, 8 months old, was killed yesterday.
so far appears to have been murdered by his sitter, a couple with whom my nephew and his girlfriend have been living.
they beat and drowned this little baby.
So sorry (((Pioneer)))

i'm just sat working on a new version of the forum (to bring it more up-to-date and make it better for non-ie browsers) and notice the date on the first post of the backup database that i'm working against ... 23 march 2000.. i can't believe it's been 8 years !
.
thank you to everyone who has participated over the years and helped keep this place alive to help others coming out of the wts.
Happy birthday JWD and thank you so much Simon for having this site.

well, i attended the memorial last night, and since i have been inactive for some time two of the elders came up to me afterwards.
they want to get together and discuss how to get me active again.
since i am going thru some withdrawal pains, i spinelessly agreed to talk with them this friday evening.
I would meet with them as planned. Make it a bit social - have a drink and biscuits ready. Tell them you have a few issues to sort out but you need to work through them in your own time.
If they ask if you want someone to study with you, tell them you are quite capable of studying by yourself.
If they ask if you want to be picked up for the meetings, tell them you have your own transport.
Good luck with it all. Don't get too stressed over it - life's too short. This phase will pass. They will forget about you. Your family and significant others will eventually accept your "weak or inactive" status.
last year i turned up to make everyone happy.......but this year i just could'nt force myself to go.
some witnesses called on the day to "encourage" us to go....my mum called to make sure i go.....but i just couldn't put my tie on!
after being on this site for awhile i feel like i have moved on.
Good on you, 007. I think the memorial attendance is going to be pretty low this year in Australia. As you know, it is a national tradition to go away for the four days of Easter. It would have been too tempting for many of the "one meeting a year" attenders to say away.
it's march 15th for gods sake i want my spring...i'm sitting here in nashville freezing, can't get out on my motorcycle or anything...
We've just had 15 days in a row of 35 degrees C or over. 10 of those days were 39 degrees or higher. (35C = 95F).
Looking forward to winter!
