Very little. Without the internet, I would have left the organization through suicide. The internet opened up the resources and information that gave me hope, and showed me that such a drastic action was not necessary. So, the internet did not necessarily get me out of the organization, but rather, it saved my life.

How much influence did the internet have on you leaving the organization?
by The wanderer inuntitled document <!-- .style1 {font-family: verdana} .style2 {font-family: verdana; font-style: italic; } --> discoveries about the organization on the internet admittedly, had it not been for the internet, and all of the dis-.
coveries that were found on it; i would still be one of jehovah's .

Say You're a Bethelite & Monitoring JWD - How Would You Feel About THESE??
by Seeker4 ini'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

In answer to the question that was posed in the title of this thread:
Quite frankly, I don't think that any loyal Witness who was "monitoring" this site would really care too much about the heartache that was being shared here. Any Bethelites who are monitoring this site are not doing so for benevolent reasons. They are doing it to gather "intel" or to dig up dirt about "apostates". In the minds of the GB, and the WTS elite, anyone who leaves the organization for any reason is considered a "Korah" or merely a narcissistic malcontent. There is never any justifiable reason for leaving the "Mother". I don't think that any of us should delude ourselves into thinking that the WTS is interested in those who have left the organization for conscientious reasons. Our leaving the organization for doctrinal reasons has forever branded us "haughty", "hard-hearted", and "Godly opposers".
In the minds of the organization's elite, the whole "wait on Jehovah" concept trumps anyone's arguments as to the WTS's being a false prophet, ruining lives with it's policies, or teaching false doctrines. They are completely indoctrinated with the concept that to leave the WTS, is to leave Jehovah God; no exceptions. Once someone has fully internalized this concept; I'm afraid that they are impervious to any rational dialogue or evidence to the contrary.

What ever happened to treating people the way you want to be treated!
Perhaps you already answered your own question.

How Much Do You Really Know???
by mama1119 inthis is probably a question more for those who grew up in the truth, rather than those who studued and came in.
i have found, i really know nothing when it come to the actual fundamentals of jw .
i have learned more on this site than i did being a jw for 20 years.

You were in it, defended it, but didn;t have aclue what you were saying, just repeating what had been embedded in your head?? Do you think it is easier for that type to leave?
My knowledge of the Bible when I was a JW was quite shallow. I knew how to parrot back all of the JW cliches, and bullet points. I was basically just a good Watchower apologist. I bought into most of the sophistry and talking points listed in the Reasoning Book.
However, it was when I really started to study the Bible on my own without WTS publications that I seriously questioned the JW teachings. One of them being biblical inerrancy. After doing much research into archeology, I realized how skewed the teachings were about the the 6,000 year human history, the global flood, and other Old Testament accounts. I had never realized how incredibly biased and intellictually dishonest the WTS's research had been.

Why is knowledge wrong?
by loosie inok adam and eve sinned by eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and bad.. why weren't they allowed to eat from the tree of knowledge?
isn't knowledge a good thing?.
i am one of those people who can't stand not knowing the answers to everything.

Knowledge if freedom. The "Society" can't allow that because then who would follow them? Thus they beat this story
into the minds of their believers so that they will believe that it is wrong to question and to think for one's self.
This really sums it up quite succintly. Knowledge is a threat to indoctrination. It's the bleach that kills the bacteria.

WTS says that the pets of the ungodly will be killed at armageddon
by headmath ini have direct proof of this.
according to wts doctrine god will kill not only pet owners but pets as well, if they are not jw.. i'll give you all some time to respond to this and then i'll show you the actual wts doctrine on this.

I like to alternate it with the terrified chicks in front of the cocktail lounge and XXX movie theatre.
These morons have to realize how stupid this looks if they see it enough.
And to think, that this image was placed in a children's book. This particular illustration was one of the most sociopathic images ever to be created by the goons in Brooklyn.

Thanks for sharing those photos. Do you ever sell any of your glass work at those events?
