Thanks again all, I realize that fighting the doctrine issues is a very difficult undertaking and I know that I am not equipped to do, at least at present. With respect to being the only true religion, how do I pose a question such as that without seeming like I am on the attack or trying to cutdown the dubs? I saw an interesting article titled "Are Jehovah's Witnesses the only True Religion?" on the jwreform website which to me raises some interesting questions. Since my wife is still not rejecting reading 'apostate' literature and even though the jwreform website is sympathetic to the jws, can I direct her to that site, or should my approach be different.
Her bible studies are when I am not home, so I am unable to ask questions personally, how do I plant the seeds in her mind to get her to think and ask questions on her own without seeming like the devil that she will be warned about.
Thanks again so much everyone for your wonderful support!!

With respect to the Daniel book or the Revelation book, should I read them or have her read them?? She may have already been exposed to a lot of that stuff from her jw family. She also has cousins who are wonderful loving Baptists. It is interesting that last thanksgiving we celebrated with her cousins who are not jw and my wife commented on how she did not realize that religious choice could make such a difference in the love in a family, and she still entertains their beliefs.
I really think what she holds most of the jw beliefs is there is no Trinity and that there is no place of eternal torment. Other than that I think she is fairly undecided. I also think she has not studied any of the history and therefore has no idea of the track record of the GB.
Thanks again to everyone, you are all wonderful and I appreciate and need your support and help!

No philosophy yet, but wants to take a religion class next semester, wouldn't the fds love that!

Thanks Auld Soul, sounds like a good plan, she has a chapter 1 study (I think) tomorrow evening. This may work very well because she is very busy at school and this would let her not have to be as rigid with her planned times. What about meeting attendance?? I attend a Lutheran church and she finds much of the traditions very strange to the point of being sins, I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO ATTEND ANY MEETINGS!!!!
Appreciate all the help, keep it coming, will pose any additional questions!!

Some of the reading I have done said to ask questions such as who is your mediator, or show me where the bible seals the annointed class in 1935 (or for that matter where it shows 1914 as the accurate Jesus presence date - her history book does show the correct date for the fall of Jerusalem <grin>). Another approach one said is to ask the question about how the jws became the fds in the 1914-1919 time period and then from the proclaimers book show the incredibly bad food that was being fed at that time. Do any of you think any approaches like this would have any merit, or would the bs leader already be programmed to block these approaches??
Thanks again so much for your help!

Thanks for the insight already, I think she got the desire, or parental influence, to study when she became unemployed. Recently she has started full time college and at least is learning to process things and think for herself, which from what I have read is basically prohibited in the wt. I also notice that the book is written at an elementary or middle school grade level at best.
Please keep the help coming, she is a very intelligent gal who has resisted the wt for over 20 years with her parents being in it, just want to keep her on the right side!!

jenga is a simple game in which wooden blocks are neatly piled up - and then removed, one by one, until one person ( the person who loses.
the game) makes the pile collapse.. it is tempting to see the organization in the same way - making small but significant "removals" over time.
they pull out food service.
This is my first post, my wife is being courted by the jws and has a family background in the jws. She is to start a bible study using what does the bible really teach. Having not been exposed to other wt literature, I could not believe how simplistic the writing was, seems to be at a middle school level. Any thoughts on this new book would be appreciated.
Thanks
