  Fall 2008 One Day Assembly....what is the theme?

  my wife is attending the assembly this upcoming weekend, is there a posted agenda and can any of you provide a summary of what is discussed so i know what she will be hyped up about when she gets back?.

  After listening to the parts of the assembly, they sure talk a lot about telephone ministry.......is that a big push this year????

  she and her young girl tag along wanted to give me a bible reading.

  My wife, who is only studying (though she was brought up in a JW family) pretty much said the same thing when I told her she could find out that the WTS was involved with the UN from the United Nations web site, she said if it is not on the official JW website, it is apostate material.......so that darn apostate UN!

  Ran into the JW table at San Diego airport...

  yes, my ladyfriend and i were entering the san diego airport for our flight home to phoenix late yesterday afternoon, when i noticed a forty-ish man and woman sitting down behind a table loaded with wts publications.

  i stopped to glance over them with joy.

  i made familiar comments about some of the publications, noting the newer soft covers and trying to casually engage the pair in conversation.

  why not stay home and make up however many hours you want!

  When they phone witness, is this from home or from the KH? There was lots of talk of phone witnessing in the audio files of the Fall Special Assembly.

  phobias, certainly, are created by an anger/aggression response in a particular zone in our brain.

  it triggers powerful hormone production such as adrenaline, to get us ready for fight-or-flight.

  Great post, and your explanation of phobias and your husbands reactions gives me some insight on my wife.....I notice when she sees Christmas advertisements or decorations going up, she gets sort of nervous, and if enough of them, will eventually pick up some WTS publication, even if she does not spend time reading it, almost like a security blanket.

  Was listening to the first section that is downloadable from the YNOT post above, he talks about how one accepts dedication to Jehovah at baptism, wonder why he did not state "Jehovah's spirit directed organization" as stated in the baptismal vows........

  There are three that do the same in front of the building where I work, have not seen them for a while, I used to know the car they drove, so I would place questions under the windshield wiper some days....
