My wife's father has to continue to work because he for one thought that he was 'walking right in'. Now he continues to do back room work at a retail store in his later 60s because he has nothing to retire on.....it is a crying shame and a sin.

Thanks Blondie, amazing how superficial a lot of the stuff has become. How does this translate in countries where housing is not at the premium that it is in the western world, people are satisfied living off the earth and to them that is what they want and the way things should be.

drop its teaching on paradise earth.. the primary issue facing the watchtower results from it's teaching that members will never die, but live forever on this earth in paradise.
this teaching is cause of most of the doctrinal failures, and will be its eventual demise.. the promise of never dying is one of the foremost motivations for people that join the religion, and the message of living forever in paradise is compelling.
however, it is also the watchtower's achilles heel, as it forces false predictions of the nearness of the end.
some that I know quote: "no one knows the day or hour when these things will occur.
When one hints at all towards 'the end' this is what my wife states, and if you attempt to bring up history at all you get a dumbfounded look.....
