I am sure my wife will want to go and want me to tag a long.........maybe a few hours one morning just to let me ask some questions, but would rather tear off my fingernails.

I am not sure how I am identified by the sister who is studying with my wife and her husband...I have noted that she has only come around when I am at work...but I have not had a chance to ask any questions of her yet....we are supposed to be reading chapter 8 of bible teach....
I struggle to try not to be labeled as a spiritual opposer, but I think when I get in the situation, unless I can really hold back, it will be quite evident, maybe not to my wife, she seems starstruck again, but definitely to the dubbete and the husband (both born ins).
Because they are born in, maybe a good question here and there will cause some thinking...but I think the critical thinking skills are all but gone.....
He was a reactor operator for a while, think he is dealing with safety and training at the plant now.....that seems to me to be a good dub job, another area where there is no room to think on ones own, do what the book says to do.

Lovebombing =Pats on the back for me going back to Meetings...I want to punch someone!!!!
by Witness 007 inafter being away for 3 years i have agreed to attend some meetings with my wife who is suffering depression.
she has no friends except witnesses.
every meeting i get pats.......pats on the back during the damn meeting, elders and servants patting me on the back, mouthing "hello" giving me the thumbs up.....the last elder who did it, i almost stood up and punched him....i invented love bombing and they dare use it on me...me!

The lovebombing gets me totally ill......my wife has just started another study with this woman who is being oh so nice to her and the other day when she was on the phone with her she told my wife how she 'loves her'. Well my wife things this is just so wonderful....we are supposed to meet with these folks and read the chapter in bible teach on God's Kingdom.....I think it may be a good time to ask the sister and her husband (if he is there) if they have any friends who used to be JWs...., need to think of a good way to state this.
What amazes me is my wife is so skeptical of most people who are trying to be her friend, but she does not see that as soon as she has stopped any study, these 'friends' don't even call her back, unless a need to place a magazine or a book. Secondly when she has tried in the past to ask a 'study sister' to go to the mall or something with her, they always have something else to do.....the relationship is all built around counting time.
Love bombing is such a disgusting thing, but it sure preys well on those who are not confident in themself....

For JeffT and Beks~Gettysburg!
by StAnn inseriously, have you two ever read confederates in the attic?
it's a really good non-fiction book and in it one of the characters annually goes on a "civil wargasm" where he visits various civil war sites and spends the night in a tent, etc.
it sounds like lots and lots of fun.. if you haven't read that book, you really should.

Wife has a new sister leading her study......
by insearchoftruth inwell we moved to another city and my wife was handed off to another sister for her study, even though it was only about 10 minutes from where the previous sister lived.
is this standard practice, will a person really only work in thier own territory??
my wife seems to like this sister she is studying with, and last week i met her and her husband, seem like pretty nice people, both born into the organization and seem to be pretty brainwashed by the stuff.

How does affluency match with the wts teachings on modesty, more giving to the worldwide work etc.....is it just sort of looked past if the donations keep coming?? Is the standard different is it is a UBM making the dough even if the money is not coming in?
Another question, how could a person be married to one in an 'unchristian' profession and take the 'blood money' to support the work?

Darth Frosty stated (can not get quotes to work right now):
"As far as the couple goes sounds to me like they're the new agewitnesses."
I could see this being the case, I believe they are both in their middle to upper fifties but don't know anything else, this is comfortable for them and they are evidently not bothered due to thier economic stature (most likely a lot of donation to the WWW). One thing I am unsure of is what the status of each are in the congregation......in the brief conversation I had with him however he mentioned how wonderful it is to 'study the bible' as well as insinuated that my job (working for the US DoD) is not in line with proper Christian principles......

So therefore standard practice....do they have pretty straightforward geographic boundaries then for congos? One does not generally attend the meetings that best fits their schedule then?

God's kingdom:is it possible to define it ?
by Koiné insince i am working on an essay about "gods kingdom or the kingdom of heaven" i would appreciate how people describe or define this expression, apart from the watchtower definition.. is it only another metaphor for god's eternal universal reign?.
do we have to see it in a pre-post- or amillenial setting?.
is it only something in the mind and heart,or will it like, daniel2:44 says, one time be the only government over (or on) the earth.. if it started his activities after jesus death and ressurrection in the 1st century what has been the influence since then?.

Well we moved to another city and my wife was handed off to another sister for her study, even though it was only about 10 minutes from where the previous sister lived. My wife seems to like this sister she is studying with, and last week I met her and her husband, seem like pretty nice people, both born into the organization and seem to be pretty brainwashed by the stuff. One thing that I noticed immediately is they do not fit the socio-economic stereotype of a JW in any way at all. He is well employed, I figure making mid 100,000s and because of this she does not work, he drives a current SUV and she a very new europeon luxury sedan. The house is very well appointed, beautiful artwork, a really nice home entertainment center, leather furniture and all the nice stuff. Seems a bit materialistic to me for a JW......not sure of the status of either of them in the congo, I am guessing she is at least a pioneer, not really sure of him, for I know he puts in some long hours at the office. My wife has been studying for about five or six months and she is about to embark on chapter eight, God's Kingdom and she feels I will be interested in it, so I am cordially invited to participate.....yipee.
