I would have no problem admitting it...If I ever got the chance!!! Come on somebody bring it up It's not something that comes up in everyday conversation I guess.

Can you admit that you "used to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses"?
by undercover ini was reading about minimus' trip to the hospital and his telling them that he "used to be a jw" but he would take blood now if needed.. it got me to thinking; i don't like telling people that i used to be a jw.
that's in my past and i prefer to keep it there.
if asked about my upbringing or religious preference, i usually just comment on being brought up in a strict religion but i got over it..and then try to change the subject.

Just wondering if they have had any new light on this subject...Can I turn in a witness to the local BOE if I see one at the zoo?? Or get called into the back room if I am seen there? OMG their rules are so funny!!
"I am so sorry Bro. Nofun It was in a moment of weakness that I decided to go and look at the animals...I promise I'll never do it again"

I don't think so....I always thought that in China the families were very close-knit. So perhaps if an older one got disfellowshipped or became an 'apostate' the others would be more open to listening...since I think they respect the older ones or family members more then they would respect their 'church'

Questions from Readers
• Is Jesus the "mediator" only for anointed Christians?
The term "mediator" occurs just six times in the Christian Greek Scriptures and Scripturally is always used regarding a formal covenant.
Moses was the "mediator" of the Law covenant made between God and the nation of Israel. (Gal. 3:19, 20) Christ, though, is the "mediator of a new covenant" between Jehovah and spiritual Israel, the "Israel of God" that will serve as kings and priests in heaven with Jesus. (Heb. 8:6; 9:15; 12:24; Gal. 6:16) At a time when God was selecting those to be taken into that new covenant, the apostle Paul wrote that Christ was the "one mediator between God and men." (1 Tim. 2:5) Reasonably Paul was here using the word "mediator" in the same way he did the other five times, which occurred before the writing of 1 Timothy 2:5, referring to those then being taken into the new covenant for which Christ is "mediator." So in this strict Biblical sense Jesus is the "mediator" only for anointed Christians.

You people are all the same....(dispelling myths about apostates)
by beautifulisfree ini know you are sick of that phrase by now....because jdubs use it all the time when referring to 'apostates'.
they come on this forum or (people you know) generalize 'apostates' as though we are of different class...that we are no longer human.
they are obviously fed these little tid-bits about 'apostates' from the society since i am sure they don't personally know many.

Little things that mean alot
by beautifulisfree inokay i hate to sound mean but witnesses in my opinion are mean and rude (that once included me) without even realizing it, maybe.
because the little things that non-witnesses do in everyday life for others and their family mean alot to ones they love or complete strangers.. what are some little things you can do know that show someone you care..that you weren't allowed to do before?.
1. saying "bless you" after someone sneezes

Sorry Buttlight I know this an important subject!!
Hmmm... how is it then that the R&F are told to pray "In Jesus Christ's name, Amen" if only the anointed have him as the mediator?
Good question....I suppose because thats what the bible says to do. And they have to make their prayers sound normal to the public....or maybe they are just praying for the annoited. I am going back to find an article or two on this topic.
