In the movie "A Time To Kill" where they show shots of what happened to the little girl, it still makes me sad and I haven't watched the movie in 4 years.

Film Scenes that got burnt onto your memory
by greendawn inwhat were some film scenes that pleased or horrified you so much that they stayed vivid in your memory for a long time?
the one i always recall is the scene where anthony hopkins (playing as hannibal lector) lobotomised ray liotta (paul krendler) cutting off pieces of his brain and giving them to him to eat.
he also took some of liotta's cooked brain in a plane and gave them to an unsuspecting passenger boy sitting next to him to eat.

What would be the greatest "Division" amongst Jehovah Witnesses.
by JH in.
they say that they are united in every way, that they enjoy the same teachings..... .
but what would be the greatest "division" amongst them?.

I would say the issues they consider to be "conscience issues". Such as should you go to a relatives wedding if held in a church, funerals, if you are at a PG or under rated movie (like alot of Disney films) and they show something such as spirtuality do you walk out?

Did U Know A Lot Of "Cuckoo" JWs???
by minimus ini knew a number of elder's wives that were nuts.
one in particular used to talk to herself regularly.

WOW, now that you brought it up I never really payed attention to it, but you guys are ALL right. There was one in particular in my hall, she has lived in this town for a long time, so she knows alot of people and anyone you ask her about she says they are nuts, but then you ask the ones that she says are nuts, and they say the exact same thing about her. I always just viewed her as eccentric, but the more I think about it, she is pretty off.

"Help! my dad is watching Pornography" Cries of a JW teen.
by Dune inas some of you may know, i'm still an active witness and i'm still in the planning stages of my "escape".
i met a sister at a district convention a year ago and i've been talking to her on aim for a while.
i think she is very amusing considering that she is very intelligent and often voices her views on the doctrinal falicies of the wtbs, but when its my turn to give my two cents she makes it seem as if i'm the only poztate.

I agree with Candidlynuts, this issue is between a man and his wife. If the wife feels betrayed by his actions of looking at the pornography, then they need to talk about it and look at the issues surrounding it. When I found out my ex was looking at pornography, I wasn't upset by the pornograpy itself, but his actions around it, the hiding it, lying about it.

Charasmatic Churches (Pentecostal, Assemblies of God, Foursquare, etc.)
by kristyann inthis might sound stupid to some of you... and i hope that i do not offend anyone that is a member or regular attender of a charasmatic church... but i am really confused by them.
i grew up in a nondenominational christian church... it is basically your typical nondenominational, protestant church.
the thing is, most members of charasmatic churches that i have talked to also told me that a true christian must be "baptized in the holy spirit" according to their definition of being "baptized in the holy spirit"... and if you aren't, you're not really a christian and not really "saved.".

I was raised in the Assembly of God church and I always questioned the baptized by the holy spirit and speaking in tongues thing. The witnesses say it is from Satan, the pentecosts say it is from God, I still don't know although I am researching this topic. I still don't believe though that you have to be baptised or saved to go to heaven. I think your life after depends on your beliefs and personal trust in God and how you follow those standards in your day to day life.

Thanks delilah, it is nice to hear of a fellow woman make it in "a mans world". I am not interested in tournaments, but then again you never know what the future holds. I am just worried about making it throught the first week..lol. The classes are 6 days a week. They showed some before and after pictures of alot people who took the classes and they were amazing. That is real cool that your daughter did all that. I went to my first live tournament a month ago and I noticed that the women were more intense than the men, I thought it was the neatest thing. Anyway, hope all who pass by have a great day!

Thanks for all your replies. I am a girl about to kick butt...hahahaha. I know it will be difficult, but I went to enroll for the classes today. I am only doing it for the physical aspects, but I am also thinking this will help get rid of some pent up frustration from the past couple years.

Why does religion fail?
by cosmic ini'm not used to starting threads, but i ran across a web site the other day that set my mind churning.
the site was called "the atheists manifesto", and i think i heard about it from someone on this board.
but, anyway, it mentioned a couple of things that seemed compelling:.

Religon is manmade, spirituality is between you and your god.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had experience with kickboxing? I am a painter so my job is very physical, but I would like to tone my body. I was trying to research kickboxing and all I got was advertisements instaed of health benefits. I am not into the hum drum routine of aerobics, spinning, weight lifting, etc. Just wondering if you or anyone you knew tried it and what you or they thought about it. I know this is a religous forum, but I figured with all the different people on this site I might actually get REAL feedback. Thank you for your time.
