The announcement is only made in one KH now. (Source - elders letter - 2000?) Obviously , if the individual associated with several congs or had a great deal of contact with a particular cong , then it might be made in more than one.

they are pushing aux. pioneering AGAIN this "memorial season"....so
by ?me? ini was thinking since we have a congo "goal" of 30 aux.
pioneers, do you think the elders or the service committee would now allow me to give it a shot?
(that is if if actually wanted to )... i am one of those 1-4 hour publishers (sometimes more; 10 hours last month because i did some rbc work, and if i the pioneers can count it, i will count it).

The key guidelines that I looked for when I was on the service committee was:
1...Is the application "exemplary"?
2...Have they made a realistic schedule?
If they were a 1-4 hour publisher , I'd probably ask them to confirm point 2.
We knocked a couple of pioneer applications back for March , so the idea that all applications are accepted to bump up the figures is the usual JWD fiction.

"Wouldn't deliberately posting on a board frequented by disfellowshipped JWs, and sharing in "spiritual discussions" with them, also qualify as the above?"
I take the point , but I feel that although the WTS strongly advises against participating in "apostate" websites , it isn't a disfellowshipping offence per se. In addition , many posters here are active witnesses , interested persons or are "unbelievers" married to JWs - so it isn't an "apostate board" as such. I agree that it is inadvisable - I have my own motives for participating.
To donate blood is a voluntary act - it is a degree further than perhaps taking a transfusion in a potentially life-threatening situation or under pressure from doctors , family or friends. I couldn't , in all conscience , remain "in the truth" in those circumstances.

I personally feel your situation is untenable.
There are many elders (including me) who have certain relatively minor issues with the truth but still accept the core values and teachings. Personally I agree with the blood doctrine - even if I didn't , I wouldn't donate. If you are regularly donating blood , then that is deliberately violating one of the foundation teachings of Jehovah's witnesses. The very act is a pre-meditated "apostasy" as defined.

Locks of Love--Can you ever imagine JWs doing such a thing?
by rebel8 intoday hundreds of people are volunteering their hair for an org that provides wigs to cancer pts.
the today show in nyc had a few folks allow their long hair to be cut for donation and there are hundreds in another locale doing the same.
there are even little kids doing it!.

"Re: Locks of Love--Can you ever imagine JWs doing such a thing?"Doh! I can't just imagine it - I have seen it - a sister in my congregation had her long (ie she could sit on it) blonde hair cut off & gave it to a local charity - the picture was in the local paper. The article didn't mention she was a JW , so apostates can't claim that she was doing this for publicity for her faith,(Sorry , I can't find the link - I'll post it if I do.) Everybody thought this was a good idea & commended her for it.
To say that JWs never engage in charitable work is nonsense - to say that it is banned is nonsense.
The more I read apostate websites , the less respect I have for you guys!

Thousands of JWs "contributed" their hair during WW2 in concentration camps - not too many other "Christians" obliged.

"Well, hopefully it will help open their young eyes to the reality of the destructive, mind-controlling cult their parents have gotten them mixed up in. Spare us the 'warm christian love and cookies' routine dozy, we all know the dubs are only interested in their own narrow interests and would not lift a finger if some "pagan" church needed to be repaired or renovated. "
The message was full of expletives from a nutcase-type apostate - it was disgusting even for an adult to read.
I'm not aware of any church that helps other churches (of different denominations) in repair projects - the neighbouring Protestant "wee free" church wouldn't even let the brothers use their car park in Lerwick , despite a friendly request. I suspect your issue is with religion in general rather than just JWs - sadly it is a fact of life today.

Rip it apart: A Letter from a First Century Christian
by serendipity injesus or paul?
" he gives his opinion and has the nerve to say that he thinks he has god's spirit in what he says.
well, i have jesus telling me what is the good news and i will listen to him and his father, not men who committ apostasy and flip flop back and forth and misinterpret prophecy and do not show love and want all the glory for themselves.. .

WTBTS and Taxes in the UK.
by Gill in.
the wtbts, at least here in the uk, makes loans to congregations of jws for mortgages to build kh's at a 'reasonable rate of interest'.. does the wtbts pay tax on the interest it is making, since this is clearly not a charitable earning or donation?

Why does the local Scout troop ask for funds to build a new hut which ultimately is owned by the National Scout organisation? Why does the local church run lotteries or sell raffle tickets (another topic here , never mind) to help fund a church which is owned by the Catholic church? No conspiracy here - so why do you think there is one with JWs?
In the UK , ownership of a KH is held by local trustees (of whom I am one , so I know how it works). Should we wish to sell our hall , we would be able to use the funds to purchase another - (indeed , have done in the past). Trusteeship is based on office bearership , rather than linked with any one named person.
Interestingly , I once raised the question with a financial whizz in Bethel as to what would happen to the assets if (much to the delight of apostates) JWs were dissolved. The society (in the UK at least) is "owned" by its members , in the same way as a building society or club and a "windfall" payment would be made to all witnesses following the sale of all assets and repayment of all secured debts , in the same way that payments were made to building society and insurance members during the eighties & nineties.

The nominal rate of interest increases the overall fund (marginally) and generates more funds for further projects. As most loans are interest-only , further capital payments are used to further more projects.
The loans do not "burden the brothers" - the interest rate & (if any) repayment schedule are very light & can be re-negotiated if required. Typically the society will lend up to 50% - the rest is made up of congregation funds and "soft" loans. Our congregation in rural Scotland really appreciated the help - we couldn't have refurbished our hall without it.
There is no conspiracy here , no matter how much ex-JWs want there to be - sorry! Keep trying , though - love the laughable "experience" quoted.
