What's the most exotic vehicle you've ever spotted in a KH parking?

LaCatolica, I read your earlier post about finding out about the rules of JWdom. Well there are also a lot, a whole lot, of unwritten rules too. Facial hair is one of them (at least in the states). Oh, you can have a mustache (better not be handlebar) but no beard (goatee, soul patch, etc.). You also should not have long hair, not even shaggy. You can have sideburns (although frowned upon) but they better not go below your ear lobe. If you ask an elder about these rules he will tell you they are not "rules", just guidelines. My definition of a rule is a guideline that if not followed has consequences enforced by others. So are there consequences for not following the elders/societies guidelines. You bet your fairy feathered ass there is. You won't have "privileges" in the cong. (no running mics/sound, handing out pubs at the magazine counter, collecting the "donations", counting attendance, parking lot security walks, stage duties. You also will never be appointed a ministerial servant or elder. You will generally be looked down upon as "spiritually weak" or as "bad association". You won't be invited to dinner by the up and coming ministerial servant or elder. You will be constantly told you look "worldly" and made to feel you are bringing reproach upon Jehovah's name and his organization. Kinda reminds me of the pharisees and their extra rules they placed on the israelites.

Need help finding article
by lost_light06 ini was watching a show tonight with my wife that dealt with organ transplants and my wife asked me if it was "ok" for a jw to donate organs.
i said yes then said "unless you live in 1955".
she didn't know what i was talking about so i told her that jw's were not always '"allowed" to get organ tranplants.

She didn't know what I was talking about so I told her that JW's were not always '"allowed" to get organ tranplants. Then I mentioned that they weren't allowed to used aluminum cookware either. She had no idea what I was talking about and asked me where I heard that. I just said I hurd it from someone. She said "well then you don't really know if it's true". So here it is. I need a WBTS article that spells out the "wrongs" with aluminum cookware. I can't find it on the WT Library CD-ROM (big surprise). My wife still has no idea that I no longer believe "the truth" but I am trying to raise doubts in her mind without her noticing. So any links to articles (.jpg, .pdf, anything that is authentic, or she won't believe it) would be a great help.

My old KH had large rocks thrown into the AC unit during the middle of summer. Our assembly hall recently had a truck driven through the main doors and they stole sound equipment and a bunch of computers, including the DO's laptop (i'd like to see whats on that HD!)

Rank and Baseless New Light speculation
by FreeWilly inwarning, conspiracy theory ahead!
in the past few years we've seen a few of the old-school anointed gb members pass away.
given the fact that major organizational issues are decided by a vote within the gb, i wonder if the balance of power is shifting.

Since I just finished Crisis of Conscience this subject is fresh in my mind (as he deals with it in the last chapters of the book). The fact that there is a “shift in power” among the GB may not cause any big change in doctrine (good or bad). The reason being that the men of the GB, like most r&f witnesses are slave to the concept of “the organization” and thus slave to it’s heritage and traditions. That is a major driving force among the GB. The traditions take precedence, as we’ve seen, even over the bible in most cases. For a GB member, who was carefully selected, it would be difficult in their own minds to justify a major shift from a traditional doctrine (such as blood, 1914, time of the end, field service). There have been those GB members in the past who lightly pushed for changes in basic traditional doctrines but met with much resistance and were easily swayed to, if not wholeheartedly, go with the majority vote. When power was wrestled away from Knorr and Franz many may have thought this would result in major changes in doctrine. In fact the only big change was in ’95 with the “new light” concerning the 1914 Generation, and this change was made out pure necessity. It was, in fact, brought up in the late seventies and it took them nearly two decades to come up with what they did. Ray Franz, in his book, makes the outlook seem rather grim as far as the likelihood of big changes to the society. I’m not sure I agree with it, I hope there are big changes or at least the GB slips up big enough that there is a mass exodus. Whatever the case, don’t hold your breath for some major changes once the old-school GB start keeling over. Most changes will most likely be from necessity, to protract past prophecies and deadlines.

Make comments during the WT study. Replace Jehovah with "The Big Man Upstairs", replace Jesus with "JC", replace Governing Body with "The Empire", replace Holy Spirit with "The Force", replace brothers and sisters with "Zombies", replace Elders with "SS Police", replace Pioneers with "Storm Troopers".

During the Ministry School when everyone takes out their "school books" take out a copy of Crisis of Conscience. Wait awhile until a few important people see you then put it back like you accidentally grabbed the wrong book and grab your "school book". Be sure to comment alot right after this.

Walk in the kingdom hall with a Marlyn Manson T-shirt on then invite everyone (espcially elders) over to your house for barbecued blood sausage and lamb shanks cooked in it's mothers milk.
