Follow the money.
The official history is that the 19th century founder sold his family business to start the religion, but really he was secretly funded by representatives of a shadow organization with an evil agenda. He agrees to include their subtle propaganda in his new religion, and they split the profits.
When he dies, and his successor goes to jail, the "religion" nearly goes broke. Many followers leave. The new leader takes out a high-interest loan from the same loan-sharking folks. It's impossible to ever pay off the interest, he's trapped.
The modern-day followers have no idea they're funding an illegal money laundering operation that supports terrorism. The leaders call themselves "The Slave" because they alone know who the real masters are, and where the money goes.

A research question for my novel
by JeffT inone of the key plot points of my novel (which i'm rewriting again - probably as a result of a personal issue i'll discuss some other time) is a higher up similar to ray franz is about to go public with some information, knowing this the top dog has him killed.
my fictitious religion is similar to the wtbs, but not exactly.
it has similar controls, and a history of false prophecy which it has survived, much like the watchtower.

Funeral program from Michael Jacksons memorial/message from Rebbie
by Pandoras cat11 ini know there have been many mj threads and probably everyone is sick to death of hearing of this event---but i just had to share this message from the funeral program.
one of our local dj's was able to go to the staples center and attend this memorial and he shared the program on the radio stations website.
the website wouldn't let me cut and paste it here, so i will write word for word what rebbie (his sister) wrote to him.. i love you so much and i'm looking forward to the time when i'll see you again on earth (john 5:28-29).

How did you get MJ to look cartoony? Photoshop?
The painting is from MJ's personal collection, which was put up for auction, and then cancelled, awhile back.then what do you do if you are a pedophile?
You're asking me?

Very Moving memorial to Michael. First class all the way
by StoneWall inglad i decided to watch it.
i was afraid it would turn out to be a circus and i was very pleasantly surprised at how.
dignified and honorable it turned out.. thanks to the jackson family for allowing many to see all the good things michael will be remembered for as well.

He was untrained. All of that came from somewhere inside him.
He worked with voice coaches, song writers, musicians and choreographers like any other performer.
Here's an example: 'Bad' Choreographer Remembers Michael Jackson
Granted, you really liked the guy FHN, but must you pull stuff out of thin air?

Scientists Create Human Sperm from Stem Cells
By Alice Park Tuesday, Jul. 07, 2009
A colony of human embryonic stem cells is seen on a computer monitor at the University Wisconsin-Madison Darren Hauck / Getty Researchers at Newcastle University in England report they have coaxed the first human sperm cells from embryonic stem cells, in a remarkable demonstration of how quickly the field of stem cell science is moving.
The achievement, described in the journal Stem Cells and Development, comes just 11 years after the first human embryonic stem cell line was created — an eye-blink in scientific terms — in the lab of James Thomson at the University of Wisconsin.
Although the development once again raises the specter of creating humans in a Petri dish or custom-designing egg and sperm cells for reproduction, lead author Karim Nayernia says that was not his team's intention. Rather, the experiment was a proof of concept that stem cells can generate any cell in the body — not only the dozens of tissues that make up the human body, but also those egg and sperm cells that may give rise to new bodies altogether. "Other cell types don't generate the next generation," says Nayernia, a professor of stem cell biology at Newcastle University. "This makes a very big difference between our study and the study of other cell types from embryonic stem cells."

Those glimpses must have haunted Jackson for the rest of his anything but everyday ordinary life. There are indications that Jackson "disassociated" himself from the Witnesses in 1987.
In its report on Jackson's death last week, the official web site of the Jehovah's Witnesses, referred to him as an "Ex-Jehovah Witness." But the church of his childhood never left him.
That "official site" the article links to is none other than... apostate Rado Vleugel's The Watchtower Information Service! Mwa ha ha ha ha! You'd think the Washington Post would have better fact-checkers.
But it now appears someone else picked up on it. The paragraph has since been edited to read:Those glimpses must have haunted Jackson for the rest of his anything but everyday ordinary life. It's not clear if Jackson ever "disassociated" himself from the Witnesses, but church of his childhood memories never left him.
Too funny!
