The newspaper I where I was working, just over the river and GW bridge on the Jersey side of the Hudson, won awards for its 9/11 coverage.

Not that we hadn't won awards before. This was LIVE and it was US.

All our "wires" into NYC were down. Yet so many of our people… family, friends, neighbors were downtown desperately calling in with their live stories.

Trying to get home. Home to Jersey. And us, our medics and volunteer firemen, going "there." We are inextricably linked. Most of US, came from THERE.

We got the story. We LIVED the story. We still do. Well over 700 lives taken from NJ. "Only" three from my town.

Headline: "The Mourning After"

new york city mayor michael bloomberg, staying with his tradition of keeping annual 9/11 ceremonies secular in nature, has announced that the service will not include clergy.. .

bloombergs decision has drawn heavy criticism from various religious groups and leaders who maintain their religious beliefs should be featured at the ceremony.

The Center for Inquiry (CFI) firmly believes that any official remembrance of the 9/11 attacks should represent all American citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs, or lack thereof. In other words, it should be a secular ceremony, as Mayor Bloomberg has decided. CFI urges its members, as strong advocates for the separation of church and state, to show their support for Bloomberg’s decision by contacting the mayor in any of the following ways:

We joked that she had nothing on her feet, and he still had a lot of hair on his head.

Sublime duets, backed by some the finest musicians in the industry. Tony is forever a class act.

it has been over a month and a half since i have even been on the board, and that really only to ask about gps units (got a tom-tom) and mention the new job.

way too busy with life - post jw now 4 years.. of course, the new job has benefits, health insurance, etc.

(including unlimited use of the company car for personal use and the company pays for the unlimited gas for about a $25/week out of my check -- huge benefit) and this has enabled toni and i to finally after a two year engagement, to get married.

...well, kinda.. undercover apostate going to new york bethel for one week to just observe, but going veeeeerrry undercover.

the (perverted) elder hosting the trip doesnt know that i'm an apostate, and the whole trip is gonna be a big front, but its still gonna be fun to just get away from milwaukee.

look forward to meeting some of you guys that post on here.

Hi Joliette. Bit of advice: Look out for those wicked North Jersey girls just west of the mighty Hudson.

You can spot us them by the big hair, blue eye shadow, and tacky plastic handbags in wild animal safari prints. With matching shoes, no less!

but it's hardly predictive of who will win the winter iowa contest, much less the party nod or the white house.. well... there goes the neighborhood....

My Wife wants to allow a Sister from her congregation to provide before and after care for my oldest daughter...

when my littlest one was born we knew finding affordable daycare would be tough.

a sister in her congregation was suggested over and over and we finally checked her out and allowed her to keep the baby.

my oldest has had a fairly normal life (thanks largely to me and my wife before she became a witness) and because of that she is quick to speak of birthdays, holidays, etc.. i want her to continue to have a fairly normal life as i know how hard it would be for her to be 'singled out' because her friends decide to do these things.. she's about to start kindergarten and my wife wants to try some sister from her congregation who is looking to make some extra money providing before and after care.

• Will this JW drag your child around in field service all day while you and your wife work? We know how they use children as "human shields." Worldly people are less likely to slam the door in the face of a child. Less likely to say "No" to a child soliciting donations, too.

• If there's a horrible accident, and your daughter is losing blood rapidly, will this JW delay proper medical care? Will she disrespect your Headship™ as a male because you are not a JW? "Obey God rather than men" and take emergency medical decisions into her own hands?

• And if this JW is minding children in her private home, what about other JW residents present? Can you be assured they aren't active pedophiles who've been covered up by her elders?
