Pat Robertson Prediction
by robhic ini didn't see this anywhere here, so thought you might be amused by this story.. i was watching fox news this morning.
they had a quick story about ole pat robertson predicting a major terrorist strike in the us sometime after september of 2007. millions would be affected (he didn't specify killed or what, just affected...).
but the kicker was this:.
-
betterdaze
A prominent religious leader in the United States declared, "You've got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops."
His solution? "Blow them all away in the name of the Lord."
—The End Of False Religion Is Near
Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, 2006
Considering the WT now quotes Jerry Falwell, and once went to court to support Jimmy Swaggart, anything is possible.
Pat Robertson is just jumpin' along for the ride.
Keep On The Watch!

SCAN OF WT ARTICLE ON WIVES.....
by Mary insome of you asked for a scan of the february 15, 2007 wt study on wives being in subjection.
i forgot to mention, the one paragraph stresses that not only are you a second class citizen in the marriage, but women are also to "obey" the numbnuts in the congregation, even if you've got a higher iq:.

Thanks for the scan, Mary.
Without fail, everytime they say "one writer," or "a noted researcher," it is taken entirely out of context. This so dishonest and unprofessional!
Paragraph 6:
One writer noted... WHO? A marriage counselor? Perhaps a psychologist? Dr. Phil? Let's Google.
http://travel.nytimes.com/2006/03/11/opinion/11fredston.html
"Jill Fredston, the co-director of the Alaska Mountain Safety Center, is the author of "Snowstruck: In the Grip of Avalanches."
So, when a True Christian woman decides to accept or reject a marriage proposal, she can take to heart this unrelated snippet from a travel writer's review of an avalanche specialist's book?

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 12-31-06 WT Study (Discipline)
by blondie inwas he married to his own mother?
q1) why should we accept divine discipline?.
does that mean if a jw married their ex-stepmother or ex-stepfather today, they would be dfd?.

Thank you, Blondie.
This time there is not even ONE mention of Jesus except for your comments! Where he usually gets at least a passing mention, this time he's not even in the picture. It's Jehovah —> the organization —> the sinners, the org displacing and replacing Jesus.
How blatant their idolatrous self-worship has become. If/when Jesus does return, he's gonna be mighty pissed at these presumptuous men. Reminds me of Hebrews 6:4-6
"For it is impossible as regards those who have once for all been enlightened, and who have tasted the heavenly free gift, and who have become partakers of holy spirit, and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, but who have fallen away, to revive them again to repentance, because they impale the Son of God afresh for themselves and expose him to public shame."
The upside of this series of recent articles is that hapless householders/studies who read them will likely run like hell. "Scary cult" is written all over it.
(Maybe vomit first, then run.)

There was an Awake! article years ago about an African woman who was a victim of a voodoo curse. It created a tumor or swelling that made her appear pregnant.
Of course, she started studying with the Witnesses and disappeared!

I enjoyed meeting up with a genuine Christian missionary over the Christmas holiday who just returned from a mission to Indonesia. Last year it was Thailand.
No only did he spread the Good News in a Muslim land (overtly hostile to Christians), but he also volunteered labor to help the tsunami victims — regardless of religion — rebuild their homes.
He produces off-Broadway plays with Christian themes. His parents' minister to abused children. His mom used to lovingly witness to me at Christmastime, trying to save me from the JWs and bring me to Jesus, always inviting me to come worship at their church. When I told her I finally broke free from the Tower, she offered a beautiful prayer of thanks right on the spot (to Jesus, not Jehovah, which was weird to me).
I feel blessed to know this family — they're the "real deal" Christians who put the Watchtower's minions to shame. No time slips required, no magazine placements to count, no endless treadmill of meetings...
IMAGINE.

What's the most stupid comment a JW told you?
by JH ini remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.
yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

My all time favorite was when a CO was screaming at me about New Light.
How it's dark in the beginning of the day, but gets brighter and brighter.
He was belligerent. I was not compliant.
"Susan, Susan, SUE! When you look out the window each morning, what do you SEE?"
It was 10 a.m. I looked out the window, where a flock of wild turkeys were grazing on my lawn.
"Well, brother, I see turkeys!"

1970s: Satan and his demons enter our home through the television set.
1980s: Jehovah is really speeding up the work!
1990s: I may die, but at least I'll die OBEDIENT (to whom?)
2000s: Satan runs the Internet. Everything on it and everyone who uses it is under Satan's control (except watchtower.org, of course!)
All from my mom, who watches Jerry Springer, never goes out in field service, is too lazy to keep up on blood directives, and then asked me to hook her up on the 'net so she could buy crap on e-bay.
