What non-issues did you get "counseled" about?

i was "counseled"* for being mad that my jw boyfriend began dating my sister.

it was wrong of me to have feelings.

any embarrassment i felt was due to being puffed up with pride.

I was counseled by elder father because I wanted to ride the Demon roller coaster at Six Flags Great America, I was not allowed to ride it because of the name.

I was counseled by elder father the way I danced

I was counseled by elder father for the way I studied for meetings

I was counseled by elder father for the way I talked to boys

I WAS ALWAYS COUNSELED ON HOW I SHOULD GET THE CRAP BEATEN OUT OF ME, AND THEN COUNCELED TO TELL MY PARENTS THAT "I LOVE THEM SO MUCH" AFTERWARDS. I WAS COUNSELED THAT IF I DID NOT COME OUT AND TELL THEM THAT I LOVED THEM AFTER THE BEATING, THEN I WOULD BE BEAT AGAIN.

All that counseling really made me love Jehovah. NOT, I was a good kid. To hell with that org.

Did your Parents force you to do School Projects out of the JW magazines

my parents wouldn't let us read anything but the watch tower stuff and if we had to do a report on anything at school it had to be a project out of an awake magazine.

did your parents do this to you too?

The worst one was I had to pick a subject to give a presentation on in my speech class, my parents made me do it on how all the different races, and nationalities came about...it was crazy standing up there in front of all the non-JW kids, and I was so scared! I worked so hard on it though, in the end, I was made of big time at school for months!

I remember how bored all the kids looked and they probably wondered why in the world I would have picked that subject for my speech, I wonder what the teacher was thinking, but she knew I was a JW...

John Mellencamp & Sheryl Crow -a wonderful night!

my woife and i went to the best concert last night at the adelaide entertainment centre.

did'nt go to many things like that when we were jw as it's just not something done here by jw's unless you keep it quiet .

i love all sorts of music and even make some of my own.

I am a big fan of both. John Mellencamp reminds me of my childhood...Sheryl Crow reminds me of when I left the org in 1992, I think that was when her 1st CD came out, ("Leaving Las Vegas") and I worked at this place called Olivers at night, and I would sing the songs from that CD to my girlfriends, I was always singing...still singing...

Sheryl Crow's songs are great Kareoke songs too, I have sung many, "I used to ride with a vending machine repair man"...la la la...(or is "Laundry machine repair man?)...

Yes, I am a better person. I left when I was 18, 16 years ago. I learned about the JW org from this forum. I say this because I was born in, and just went along with it because my parents were devout. So, when I left, looking back, I struggled with life while trying to enjoy freedom at the same time. I was the same me, but younger and immature.

I am a better person now because of life's experiences, 10 years from now through experience, I think I will be even better. I still feel I am growing as person...

I love Meet Joe Black, I too can watch it over and over again! I am a hopeless cheesy romantic though...not many people that I know like that movie, most comments are that its too slow...but I think its a great movie.

I love Brad & Angelina, and I hope they truly are the loves of their lives, it appears to me that they love their children very much.

To me, they are both sexy and beautiful. I always thought Angie was beautiful, even when she used to be somewhat over the top when she was younger. My instinct tells me that she is a good person, and needed to grow up, and get whatever she needed out of her system. Perhaps I relate (maybe we all relate?) to this...

Love Brad, so handsome! Maybe Angie wants to be a better woman because of Brad and vice versa, maybe they did that for each other.

I guess I had alot to say on Brad & Angie, I swear I am not obsessed...lol

Your STRANGEST most SHOCKING marriage, death..or event at the KH. !

i've lived through some ... a death where my brother caught an elderly lady as she dropped dead while singing !.

a girl in early twenties marries a man (elder) 27 years older ..still married 30 years later !.

an elder is stabbed with a knife.. but it hits his belt buckle.. police called.

2 things for me:

1. Young kid that used to tell his parents about me, then they would tell my parents, what I was doing at school, etc. Turns out this young boy, 1990, murders his mom and dad, and rapes his mom afterward. My dad is the one that found the mom 1st in their basement, story posted here sometime ago.

2. I was 17, brother was 32. Friends with my dad & mom (my parents were only 34, my age now!, had me young). My parents went on vaca, this brother called me and told me that he wanted to help me get my own place when I turned 18. He then had plans to ask me to marry him. I was overcome with LOVE! Ha. He told me that he would talk to my parents when they return. I had a volly ball party that day my parents returned. He came over. I came home and our house was up for sale, my parents wanted to move me to another hall where there were more young people my age (I am so glad they did that). Very exciting time in my life, but sad at the same time, my parents gave me such heartache over this, we just packed up and left and they continued to watch my every move until I left 7 months after I turned 18.

This is for the girls...latest fashions Experts please read!!!!!

is it my imagination or are the pregnant girls wearing the tight stuff and the rest of us are relegated to gathered, covered your butt blouses?.

i haven't been shopping for awhile.

all i found was gathered from under the "boobs" blouses, short but very very full as if you are pregnant.. i prefer to buy mens shirts, the euro kind...full of detail, i have even found some with ribbons!

I love fashion! I love to review fashion and find ways to create a similiar style in a more less expensive way.

Solids are the best I think because of the obvious "mix & match". Deep gray is really in this year. In fact, I wore a pare of dark gray "skinny pants" (what they are called, but they are not tight, just fit) with gray wedges I got from Bakers, and grape colored shirt I got from Old Navy. It is simple, comfortable, and business casual.

Buy colors you feel good in. Long shirts are in now, try them on, some will work some won't. Sometimes thouse longer shirts will flatter a lady. I just think its important wear clothes that fit you! All store sizes run different.

I could really say alot, but all in all, solids help keep it stlyish, classy, "shappy sheek". By the way, wedge shoes are really in this year. I like the styles, they do not look so clumpy like you have huge shoes on (like the wedges from the 90s), they are more classy and feminine.

i was recently introduced to a new british musician, adele.

i really like her new album, "19".

I am not a Brit, but an american woman from good ole Illinois, I love Adele. I have been listening to her for a couple of months now, just the single Chasing Pavements. I think her voice is unique and I cannot wait to buy her CD this weekend.

Her style reminds of a mixture of Corrine Baily Rae (?) and Joss Stone, and I think Adele is beautiful, glad she not a bone skinny musician, you know?

Should Marijuana Possession Be Decriminalized If Under An Ounce?

in massachusetts, possession of pot, if under an ounce will only get you a fine, under a new law.. some say this will send the wrong message about illegal drug use.

(personally, i don't imbibe but i know many that do).

so, do you think allowing this law to pass will bring about more illegal drug use?.

Yes, I think it should be.

Marijuana does not make people violent, nasty, mean, or angry. If anything, it makes some lazy. All in all, I feel its a relaxer and I am not against it.
