  Presciption drug addiction

  i was wondering if any of you have experienced this problem or know of someone that has.

  i know someone with this problem and this person is in counseling and taking medication to fight the cravings, but it's still a constant battle.

  it's my daughter, and i'm desperate for advice.

  My mom is currently addicted to several meds. The main one being Vicadin. She will not admit it though. Its such a sad thing to see, if you say anything about it, she gets defensive and all hell breaks loose. I am not qualified to help her, she has to want to make the change. She currently is pennyless and living me my grandparents. She is a recovering alchoholic too, the addiction to meds came overtime, a cross addiction.

  Pain med addiction is truly a big problem, not sure how to help, but I do understand what you are going thru, especially the "what to do" part.

  How would you describe your Congregation

  i would describe my congregation on the whole as quite wooden ad robotic.

  though there are some genuine sincere and loving brothers/sisters, there is overall something missing in my hall.

  i dont feel incited to love and fine works by the brothers.. i find the boe as a whole - to be quite distant.

  Sounds like the Libertyville, IL hall circa 1986-1990. Hard to be a teenager in that hall.

  How miserable are Witless Kids REALLY?

  25 years ago i lived in an apartment overlooking the grounds of the local high school.. at the time i still totally believed the lie.

  a lot of the dub students went to my hell.. i noticed looking out my window, that the witless kids always looked miserable and isolated.

  yet in the kingdumb hell they would behave almost euphorically.. what was going on?.

  I was a miserable witness kid, but I have always tried to make the best of things which is part of my personality. But, being 36 now, and having 3 kids of my own, I definitely see that it was alot harder than I thought growing up JW, but like some had said, you do it because its all you know. When I got older, I saw more, and then eventually left cold heartedly, really did not have a choice. I longed to go to school to have some relief of the pressure from my parents, school was my freedom. I was not allowed to hang w/kids from school, which really sucked acutally.

  I went to that Roller Rink too, wasnt it called Fireside. I was a kid, about 9-10 years old lets say 82-83. My mom was single, and she met my step dad there, and they eventually married and he adopted me. We were from Addison at the time, and he was from the Elston Ave hall.

  Funny thing about that letter posted, is that I went to the Round Lake and Libertyville halls, you dont see those hall names posted often.

  i don't have a certain set of beliefs yet i still hope there is a god and contrary to what some have assumed, i'm not an agnostic or athiest (yet)..
