however, the version currently available is an abridged version of the book.. so one might wonder what was cut or removed from the orignial, and also why was it removed?.

okay i'm still a newbie but i was quite surprised when reading some info of a statement about the 'end being fluid' and that .

'present truth replaces past truth ,however present truth may be replaced by future truth'.

cambridge dictionary definition on truth -the real facts about a situation, event or person.

During a get together of jdubs, the usual question is:

"Is he/she in the TRUTH?"

If the reply is "yes", then a somewhat healthy discussion of that person results

If the reply is "no", then a derogatory discussion of that person results

I know this because I was guilty of these questions and comments when I was a jdub for 30 years

Now that I'm out of the borganization, I can say the word "truth" as used by the jdubs means any thing to do with the cult.

I find the 1914 date very "intersesting" .Russel did expect that the world would end on that date. There can be no doubt about that. The warptower keeps changing history so that from year to year one never knows just what to believe in. Tht WTS does this because they are masters of mind control. Through diabolical pictures (paradise lost to paradise gained book) of entire families being swallowed up by holes opening up in the ground at armaggedon. It scared the beejeezuz out of jdubs to keep them in line. As a jdub child I found these pictures disturbing. I really wanted to know why god would do that. It is the WTS version of "truth" that all die except them at armageddon. The WTS and the GB are going to be cast into the lake that burns with fire and sulphure. That is the truth.

I have takin action agianst the WTS. I go to landromats and clean out any watchtower and awake magazines I find, then I burn them I place anti WTS literature at these same laundromats Some one should reward me for the hours I spend doing this. It is sort of like reverse pioneering

I do not doubt that russel was a mason. I get the hint that this whole thread on the masons is to somewhat smear the masons more than the jdubs. I will say one thing, that the masons promote good will toward men and follow the golden rule. The jdubs try to imitate that but go beyond the golden rule and put the terror of god upon those gullable ones in order to make profits by way of greedy commercial activities.

how can you dis-associate anyway, you never thought you were baptised as a watchtower society member, you thought your dedication was to god, so why formally disassociate from something you did not formally join?

How long has it been "the time of the end" ?

this question crossed my mind last night.

i wonder, people in the "dark ages", who were many times under tremendous oppression religiously, politically, monetarily, etc., did they believe they were in the the time of the end?

it was mentioned in a post above that people today, especially in the west, live much better lives than in times past.

I want a refund . . .

after reading all those threads and articles about how much money the wtbts has squirreled away and invested and after volunteering to serve birthday cupcakes and punch at a homeless shelter run by the combined efforts of first presbyterian church and first methodist in downtown dallas, i have decided that i want my money back.. i want back every single cent that i ever contributed to that jabba the hut of an organization that just sits on its money and never uses a penny of it to benefit its members or the rest of humanity.

i want back the $10,000 that my dad "loaned" the society in the 1970's that they -- 10 years later -- strongly suggested he just give to them to save them the trouble of writing a check.. i want to be paid for the 13 years of regular pioneer service that i wasted on that organization.

let's see, at roughly 100 hours a month (that's what the requirement was back then), 1200 hours a year times 13 + 15,600. hmmm, okay, i'll take minimum wage for it -- isn't that $6.50 an hour now?

Yeah, the 2 day kingdom halls were built entirely by volunteer labour. The cult jdubs think that jehobah will give them a piece of paradise for their free labour. Now the WTS will start to sell those same properties because they own every dang kindom hall on earth!!. The WTS will make and has made a killing on these properties because of OVERINFLATED realestate prices which are the result of the whole crooked conglomerate of corporations of which the WTS is a member.

sometimes i wonder, with the number of letters that the wt receives refuting doctrine & practices, does the gb really buy what they put out?

or are they just pushing literature and living off the collections from congregations.

i would think that if i received overwhelming evidence of the faultiness of my religion, i'd be forced by my own conscience to change or speak up or make a difference.
