I have been a member for a few years and I am still labeled a "newbie". I don't have much time to post like i used to so maybe that's why I am a newbie. But hope I deserve to be at least on the seniority list?

It Just Ain't Fair
by HadEnuf indear concerned forum posters:
i feel at this time, in my long and varied career here at the forum, i must protest to the exalted and respected administator of this site, that a problem does exist in it's "labeling" of posters.
this concerns the titles that are given to posters when they reach a certain amount of posts.

How were you disfellowshiped????
by tcpmp ini'm pretty new to this forum.
i thought it was pretty intresting so i thought i would share my experiences.
when i was 17 i was disfellowshiped and as i sat there looking at all of the elders i was remembering all of the things that their children had done.

I was born and raised a dub. It was pretty much shoved down my throat from the age of 8 when my mom married my step-father with his working on elder status.
But I knew I was to be disfellowshipped I even told the elders I knew it. But they had to pretend they had to pray on it or whatever. I prepared my family especially my mom what was to come. But that was 8 or 9 yrs ago. I am happy for the favor they granted me. Even my JW sister has commented that she has never seen me so happy as I am now.

dinosaurs(sp?)
by datsdethspicable inwhat is the belief of jdubs about dinosaurs now?
my daughter came home the other night from her grandma(jw) saying that she wouldn't let her watch a show about dinosaurs on discovery channel because what they were showing is not true.
dinosaurs were not meat eaters.

I used to make my dinosaurs in my green bible look like Godzilla. My mom would find out and whip me for defiling my bible. I still laugh about that.

What is the belief of Jdubs about dinosaurs now? My daughter came home the other night from her grandma(JW) saying that she wouldn't let her watch a show about dinosaurs on Discovery Channel because what they were showing is not true. Dinosaurs were not meat eaters. Their only purpose was to trim the trees after Jehovah had created Earth. And of course Jehovah didn't make them that ugly. HUH?
That's OK. My daughter has learned let my mom talk and come home and get the real truth. She thinks my mom is loopy anyway. My daughter knows better and is very intellegent.
How can they believe stuff like that when science has proved otherwise? Dinosaurs are unearthed all the time even from icebergs in their former state of life..rambling..rambling.....#(&(*&@!...(&*^^&^%

How do you feel about Christmas?
by AJN indo you enjoy it after so many years of not celebrating?
does it have any relevance to you now?.
i live in nz and it doesn't feel like xmas to me cause it's the middle of summer - it just doesn't compute so that helps really all in all.

Since I was born and raised a dub. I have no feeling for it. I've tried for the sake of my boyfriend but, I don't get it. It seems too commercialized and I see parents holding things over kids heads like"Santa isn't going to get you that for Christmas if you don't behave" that turns me off. Maybe it's that conditional love thing that I was raised up in.
But I do get my kids something and we go out to eat. I don't decorate or anything else. I have asked my kids if they want a tree or lights but, they so "Nah". Sooooo it is just another day for us.

What did you day dream about at assemblies?
by lastcall inas a kid i would try to pay attention, but i just couldn't hang in there.
if i didn't day dream i was going to go insane.. i used to create scenarios in my mind that i was a jw super hero.
i had a special costume that was partially made of "flubber" that would allow me to bounce all over the auditorium.

As a kid I planned my suicide. I was so tired of life.
As I got older and discovered boys, I daydreamed about sex.
Then when I had a boyfriend waiting for me back home. I did Kegels and daydreamed about sex

Vultures are Circling
by dobby inwell in the last three weeks i have had three run-ins with local jw's.
it is interesting because when i moved to this area 2 and a half years ago i only attended a handful of meetings before becoming inactive and no one has come by to talk to us in at least two years.. the first meeting was a visit by a brother stopping at my front door out in service on a sat.
morning.

The Shining was my fave......that part where he is chasing them in the snow had me standing on the back of the sofa.
What Dreams May Come (with Robin Williams) though not a scary movie was may favorite for giving a new prospective about death.
