You guys should be eager to let others know that you are formers jws and the reasons why you left.
Think of the pain/misery and division in your families that might have been avoided if an ex JW gave you or your parents the facts about 'the truth' before you got in too deep into this cult. I wish an ex JW told me what was going on 10 years ago. I only really learned the real truth early last year.

so i went to last nights bookstudy which discusses 6 paragraphs of the daniel book so there was lots of room for comment.
the study itself already was pretty frustrating it was taken from chapter 17 paragraphs 24-29 and it goes on about how the fds has to be lead by jehovah because of all the prophecies of daniel that fits them (1335 days was this convention to that etc etc).
but the paragraphs also mention the failed prediction for 1925. here are some interresting quotes from the book: .

Somehow you try to convert "Jehoshua" into "Yahushua" (and how you do this is inexplicable to me), but as I stated in my last post, "Yahushua" is not how the name is vowel-pointed (in Numbers 13:16, for instance), and the Hebrew version of the name is clearly "Y e hoshu`a").
It's not that I converted Jehoshua into Yahushua, it is the other way around. There is no "G" sound in original hebrew as in "George", "Jeep" or "Jehovah." JWS and the West have converted "y"s in to "J"s
Davids friend Johnathan is actually Yahnathan. It was common practice for Isrealites to name their children with God's short name included. Jeremiah and Isaiah for example have the "yah" sound at the end of their name as "i" was also converted from "y"

GodisRight....It is not the case that the theophoric element in yhwsh` "Joshua" is realized in yahu- in Hebrew and yeho- in Aramaic. The Hebrew MT vowel pointing of "Joshua" has a shewa (what is given as "e" in your description, tho it is a neutralized vowel rather than a front mid vowel) after the initial yod, not a qamets (i.e. "a"). The waw also is pointed with a holem, indicating a vowel "o" rather than "u" (see Joshua 1:1 for an example)

Also there is a consonantal 'ayin which is not mentioned in the description; Greek does not have this consonant so it is omitted. Moreover the vowel in the final syllable in the Greek is not "u" but the diphthong "ou", and the final -s of Iésous is nothing else than the nominative ending.

I don't think anyone living today knows God's name. Only thing I know for sure is that God's short name is Yah. The full name I do not know.
