  Congratulations Renee! I read your story and I am appalled they asked you for $1282.00 and then disfellowship you. I would never have given them a red cent. It is too bad about your mom and dad. It is great you have a family member that has found the true light away from the borg. I wish you success and continued happiness

  Got another letter published in our local paper!!

  this time i thought for sure they wouldn't publish this one...but i believe our local paper, the stevens point journal is a very liberal, progressive little newspaper.

  the elders ignored my last letter...i wonder if they can ignore this one???

  We talked for an hour this am while one of my guys alligned his front end and I learned a few things from him as I stated previously. I did ask him what he thought about certain dates and nothing came to pass ie 1914 1975 etc. I even asked him why was it Jesus showed unconditional love to sinners and that shunning was not showing love. At that point his eyes welled up with tears. This fellow is about my age. He is either living with this lady or married to her I don't know which.

  He told me he was disfellowshipped for immorality. He said the JC told him 3 times to avoid this woman and he really believes the borg is gods mouthpiece. Now his eldest daughter is about to be disfellowshipped because she wants to move in with her boyfriend. She is in her mid 20's

  They are from Guatamala originally.

How could I have handled this he really is grieving. He will be back Saturday for more work to be done to his truck. Any advice?

  How would you describe yourself since leaving the borg?

  for me i found myself more involved politically and in community and business affairs.

  not as cynical as i once was and not as judgemental as when i was a jw.

  also more empathetic about people and finally able to see some beauty in the world.

  I guess the reason for my question is that after being freed from mind control and fear people are finally allowed to be happy and are using their God given talents. For example Katie Kitten a beautiful person who is a teacher and not closed minded and can reach youth to reach their full potential, Jeff with a beautiful family that is wise and knows his ground and extend his love and happiness without boundries, Chris and Nina intelligent, loving and kind and most of all people who care about more than just themselves. Juni who can enjoy her family and not feel the fear of all the crap that the borg tries to put on everyone. The love and compassion of being human and not haveing prejudice because of ones background or belief. Think about it FREEDOM AND HAPPINESS the borg doesn't allow that only fear and control

  I think we are all better in one way or another.
