in light of the wts's recent attempts to conceal it's talks from broader inspection and documentation, mp3s to the public are now mostly the works of the 'conscious class' and those exjws who force themselves to endure hours upon hours of control-laced presentations.

pierce, tied the overlap theory directly to fred franz's lifetime.. did anyone else catch this?.

evidently (and i'm paraphrasing), anyone anointed after franz's death in 1992 is not of the 'generation'.. 5th.

I'm not looking to get dragged into this mess, but the Apostles had HOPES, as did vigilant jews of the time that the Kingdom would be an earthly Kingdom. Thus they asked Jesus if he was doing this NOW. They wanted to be removed from oppressive Roman rule and yet Jesus corrected their wrong expectations. And, lets be honest, Daniel had direct inspiration from Jehovah to help him understand the things that he was writing. I believe that the society has good intentions, but I do believe that they try to nanny us a bit too much instead of taking to heart Jesus words at Mark 10:42, 43. But alas, they will need to answer for that, not I.

Magazine Distribution--Your Area?

i found out that in a local congregation the service overseer has directed that magazines not be given by jws to:.

a) inactive jws.

b) return visits that are not coming to the meetings after 6 months.

Question about Bethel post 1980

since i have finished reading coc as well articles from randy during the purge at bethel around 1980, i was wondering what kind of changes were made if any to try and prevent such independent thinking or study .... also, i can't help but wonder if the organization makes gb members and/or others sign some kind of non-disclosure agreements to prevent repeats of tell alls from bethelites and higher-ups.. any thoughts or information about this?.

OMG, yes I've always had a problem with this one, I think EVERYONE does. And I've heard of people reminding widows or widowers that "You won't be able to marry your spouse again". I swear, if I EVER heard someone say that in earshot I would take them and rip them a new one, I don't care WHO said it. There are some things you just don't say if you have one lick of decency or compassion.

And yes, it does strike me as creepy, always has.

i guess it's about time to post on what happened over the weekend.

i was telling my old pal jamiebowers about it and she thought it was hilarious.

thought i might retell the tale on a thread of its own.. so, i dropped my wife off at the kh for her cult recruitment activities.

SD-7, It is a BG reference but I'm not a huge fan actually. BTW, be sure and use a browser that has a incognito mode. Do all your research, JWN surfing on that and it won't leave a trail of breadcrumbs. Pain in the rear to keep logging in but better than having to explain yourself. Be sure and do some regular surfing on a browser with history so it looks like you were surfing like normal.

Wow, your wife sounds REALLY uptight, even for a witness. Getting shorts in a wad over Avatar? I know there are some that try to justify hating whatever the latest cool movie is, but easily a majority of witnesses under 50 would go see Avatar.

Picking on movie ratings is stupid because you go to another country and their standards are all different because the ratings are different. Find out what the movie is rated in Canada and if it's not a Canadian R then many witnesses have seen it.
