Wow, that's not the impression I got when entering the Taj Mahal Assembly Hall. It was well known that the Society seemed downright embarrassed at the $$$ spent on the facility and took a more direct role in managing future Assembly Halls.

Notes from my Judicial Committee (I was DF'ed at the end)
by notverylikely inthese are the details of my disfellowshipping.
the names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty.
my errors are not hidden in an attempt to make me look better, this simply is a presentation of the facts that led up to the disfellowshipping and a re-telling of the contents of the meeting.. .

The elders then said that they were specifically NOT going to discuss any doctrinal WT issues and would only be focusing on the adultery and tobacco use
So he was DF'd not for apostacy but adultery.

What gets to me is someone comes on here and says, I cheated on my wife and got DF'd( oh, and the WTBS is wrong, mmmk? ), and everyone pats them on the fucking back. Of course they are meaning congratulations for leaving the org, but pretty much ignoring that you treated your wife like shit. No I don't know your situation but adultery is morally wrong and no one should get a pat on the back for it.

Reinstatement-Curent elders please reply
by truthlover inwhile being reinstated several months ago -- no restriction were given other than no commenting - service was allowed - getting over the average for the cong, not missing meetings - its been months now and the brother met recently with someof the jc members - they praised his hours and meeting attendance but because his lessons are not completely underlined, and he does make notes during the meeting, he has not been allowed to still make comments and become a fully active member of the congregation as they say this note taking is causing a problem with other members of the congregation.. have you even heard of anything so off the wall?
is this the way its done in most cong??
he thought if someone was interested enough to listen and make notes of a good point in their mags, it would be something to be referred to in the future... i know i have seen folks doing this while the lesson is being read.... .

truthlover, I'd recommend that he move anyway. It's tough, because it would be nice not to have restrictions follow you around. However in the long run it might be better, because if they have it in for him there anyway, odds are he can't fare any worse somewhere else.

I've never understood why restrictions are imposed. Please show me the scripture that says someone can't comment but can preach to others? Restrictions seem like petty revenge. It's like they are trying to crush the spirit of someone already crushed by their own conscience. Does anyone have any quotes that explain why restrictions are needed?(from WTBS viewpoint)

Elders = Pharisees?
by ex-witness inriddle me this batman: .
why, in all the accounts of disfellowshipping (including my own ((got reinstated then quit))) do the elders seem more like the hypocritical, overly self-righteous pharisees than the cool refreshing temperament of jesus of nazareth?
rather than discuss, logically, at length any issues with the "accused", they badger them with points of "divine law" that i'm sure they don't adhere to as much as they demand of the congregation.

Unfortunately they too often resemble pharisees rather than a hiding place from the wind. Often youu are inclined to hide FROM them not run TO them.
