Beth, since Canada has health care, the savings must be seen from housing workers, not keeping trucks on the road, not leading them, fuel insurance. Etc.

Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.

"I am Happy to be Controlled" - Edinburgh Elder on Cult Cart
by cofty inso my wife and i were up in edinburgh for the weekend for the international festival - we had a great weekend including going to see the military tattoo at the castle.. we were walking up the royal mile watching the street performers among hundreds of thousands of others from all over the world when i spotted the cult cart in it's usual spot being universally ignored.
feeling confident after my confrontation a couple of weeks ago we decided to go and have a chat with the two men.
i asked them if they were keeping up with the events in australia and proceeded to share lots of information with them.

OrphanCrow, this is a frequently used tactic by divorce lawyers in custody cases(although the JWs have no business involving themselves in it). I've personally been accused of all kinds of things as a tactic that weren't true during a divorce. -

i was very much your typical witness and believed it was the truth until last summer.
a very close relative of mine left the witnesses.

You could try to connect with him in ways that don't involve religion. You obviously still love each other, give it done time. Maybe try and spend some of that time you would with coworkers and find new things to do together. If you start openly celebrating holidays you will get DFd. But you know that.
Others have dealt with zealot spouses. It doesn't have to end up in divorce but it isn't easy.

Watchtower sued for Racketeering in California
by under the radar ina little birdie informed me that a lawsuit against the watchtower bible & tract society, its legal department, and several individuals (perhaps lawyers in the legal department) has been filed in the superior court of the state of california, county of los angeles for, wait for it.... racketeering!.
that's right, folks, you heard it here first.
i have no other information, other than the case was stamped "aug 07 2015" and the docket number appears to be bc590675.
