ok i hope i do not regret posting this but here it goes.. i was at bethel and met this sister, i worked with her and we became best friends.
i never had a true family as my parents were abusive and i never fit in with any of the sisters when i pioneered all the sister hated me and let me know it very clearly.
i never had any friends in the truth before her so i was amazed that she found any good in me.
Wow. I can't believe how callous she is being about her niece. Did anyone try to get the niece counseling or anything? As for her so quickly forgiving that "brother" who molested her niece, I would have read her Mark 9:42 and asked her if her niece might be one of these "little ones". I can't believe that she's calling her a murderer. If anyone said that in my presence, I'd rip them a new one(with the bible), I don't care who they are or what position they are in.
i detest the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
deeply.
anyone who has followed my posting here for the past 6 years can attest to that!.
It's one thing to point out legit problems in the JW organization, but to embellish things to the point where any average JW can refute them only makes JWs more likely to dismiss any criticism at all. Aren't there enough legitimate things to point out without resorting to this stupidity?
spoiler warning: this thread may contain spoilers.
please avoid if you haven't seen the film.
i really enjoyed 'inception' at the theater this past weekend.
It's a great movie.
the new awake!
for oct. 2010 has articles on trust.. one article is amusingly entitled:.
"a widespread crisis of confidence".
um, ziddina, I think you are being a TOO cautious. The only malware I've ever seen in an mp3 file comes from limewire or torrents.
a "spiritual leader" tells his followers the must put on rebok running shoes and "drink the cool-aid" to join a ufo in the tail of a comet and "go to a better world" so, afew dozen young people do just that to get "beamed up" to the mothership.
heavens gate cult 1990's.. my mother says "she is faithful to the organisation till her death" which makes me wonder if they ordered a mass suicide like the reverend jim jones did to escape a "great tribulation"....how many witnesses would really drink the cool-aid?...
without a gun pointed at their head of course!.
I heard a comment recently that shocked me. The sister said that we would need to follow the direction that we receive "no matter what it is". She repeated this a couple of times. It reminded me of this thread. When I first read this thread, I thought no way, most would not drink the kool aid. Now I'm not so sure.
I would not advise using ANY email without an encrypted connection. If there's a problem with your computer, you really need to fix it, see the other thread.
there are so many answers out there, but i cannot decide which one that i should pick.
i cannot use yahoo mail since the ssl protocol is currently disabled.
i found a good suggestion earlier but i cannot find it again.
Even if your computer already has XP service pack 3, I'd recommend downloading it again from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displaylang=en
My suspicion is that the 128 bit encryption pack for your system is broken, that's why you can't get a secured site on any of your browsers. Re-installing the service pack may fix it.
In the old days, windows shipped only with the capability for 64 bit encryption. You had to install the "high-encrpytion pack" to bring your OS up to 128 bit.

You could have malware if SSL/TLS is broken. Try to download malwarebytes and run a scan on your computer.

you sow with a view to the spirit.
I have a theory or two about the brother that had to wait seven years to be re-appointed:
- He got into some kind of judicial trouble (from what I've been told 5 years for re-appointment)
- He cheated on his wife, remarried another yet his wife remained unmarried for some time.
- He swindled some people in a business deal, and took a long time for people to forget about that.
- Or some other standard immorality misconduct.
- He pissed off another powerful elder in the congregation and had to wait for him to die/move away.
- His kids caused trouble, had to step aside, kids stayed at home "rebellious" for several years.
