What are the most insincere things JWs say?
by Spectrum init really makes me angry when they say i love jehovah.
they don't know what they are talking about.
if they read with an open mind the carry-ons of this cruel mesopotanian god they would feel ridiculous and embarrassed for putting this god before their family, their children.

That Jehovah guides them during JC meetings and they just carry out his decision. I dont believe JEhovah would decide or approve of the way JW DF people and then treat them afterward. One time when I used to try to get reinstated it was like my 12 meeting with them and thy were saying all sorts of horrible things about me being a sinner etc and I was so MAD I started bawling and they said "See no It sems like you might be sorry for what you did, If we see more of this maybe you could get reinstated" only I wasnt crying because I was "sorry" I was crying becasue I was beyond pissed. Never did go back to meeting........

I'm really ticked right now!!!
by sammielee24 insituation ugly.
long story short - adult children have refused contact with df'd father for a few years.
(except for the initial obligatory hate letter full of references to satan and some disgusting name calling).

How much does your husvabd want a relationship with them? Were they close growing up? I feel you can only be shunned if you allow yourself to be. The DF'ing takes two parties too workl. If your husband stil sends cards, letter etc, he is not particpating and it loses its power. I would keep in contact as much as possible, with cards galore, pictures of you, anything he can do...

Fourth of July
by mama1119 ini was just wondering.......i know jw are not allowed to celebrate the fourth, in fact it can we a jc issue, but where we live there is a huge celebration downtown and every year i see 90% of the witnesses i know down there, "not celebrating".
they are doing the same thing all the other "wordly" people are doing to celebrate the fourth...and alot of times jw will buy fireworks and let them off the day before, as if thats different.....how do they justify this???
does anyone else have anything around them that jw will participate in but not call celebrating????

I have a red heart on my left wrist. The reason being that at one time in the senventies and early eighties, hearts were considered pagan by the JW. You could even be "turned in" for having them in your house or clothing. I got it to remind me I make my own decisions and am not influenced by guilt or fear. Alot of times when I run into someone and am "shunned" it reminds me of the freedom I have.

How Would A "Good" JW View Any One Of Us Here?
by minimus inif a good standing witness ever knew we even might frequent this type of board or that we could be negative against the "truth", how would they react toward us?
?---------how are jws supposed to act toward those of us who have left but are not officially judicially removed from the congregation??
?

I am DF'd but my Mom and Dad have unofficially left the truth and they are shunned just like I am, except every couple of months when they get a knock knock...My Dad refuses to be shunned so if he sees someone do it he will go out of his way to be extra friendly, ask all about them, and my favorite part is when I am with him and he says, "You remember my daughter Rachel" and they dont know what to say or where to look...priceless

Serious Conditioning/Brainwashing
by KW13 inthe witnesses we know are obviously brainwashed, but do you think we ever recover from what it did completely?
does every part of jw'ness leave us?.
i have a feeling that even if its not obvious, things from our personal insecurities to how we act and who we are is a result of the org, yes even if your the rebellious type cos then your just running away .

Dave,
I know what you mean...I have to really talk myself into saying "bless you" or "merry christmas" and just yesterday I was at Wal-Mart shopping for 4th of July gear and hid it under a bunch of other stuff in my cart just in case a witness saw me...keep in mind I have been df'd for 3 years and I am still nervous.

Is there an updated edition or is it the same one we studied before??? Has the "old light" been replaced or will it just be ignored?? That book used to scare the living daylights out of me when I was a kid. Thank God I dont have to subject my daughter to that....

As much as I want to forget about it, It still feels very prevelent in my life. I too get freaked out by going to other churches, especially Catholic because it seems we were taught that was the worst of the worst. Birthdays dont bother me becuase my Ma and Pa always secretly celebrated (shhh, dont tell anyone) and even though I do celebrate the rest except halloween now I always feel akward doing do. I have attacks of guilt still lie am I doing the right thing, am I going to be struck down??? Coming on here helps remind me that I wont. My Dad still gets those attacks of what if this is a test and we are failing blah blah but we just remind him of al the research he has done and he lets it go. But we havent been out a real long time so I hope all that fades....does it?????

I hoped and prayed I wouldnt have to bring out my bible and I could just sick to the presentation "suggestion" the conductor of service group gave us. Actually, I hoped that the farthest I got was "Good morning, I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses and I am in your neighborhood this morning to..." and then they would hopefully shut the door on me and I could go back to the mini van and wait until it was my turn again, sinking in my seat a little hoping the "car captain" would overlook me for a while, counting the minutes until 12:00 when we would head the mini van back to the KH and call it quits and I could possibly salvage a little of what was left of Saturday.
