conversations overheard in Vegas and other musings
by Mulan inin las vegas last week, i overheard two very interesting conversations.. on friday we took the bus to fremont street, and a young woman got on and sat behind us.
she immediately started talking, very weird stuff.
her voice was very raspy and whispery, but loud.

Oh I have always wanted to got to Vegas. It sounds like such a trip. Glad you had a good time. I am expecting my 2nd baby here pretty soon, so I donlt think I will be taking and vacations for a while. Ill have to live through everyone on the board.

My 5th anniversary today... No More Meetings
by xjwms inthis is my official day... five years ago ... when i decided to no longer attend regular meetings.. so, .. my wife comes home from the meeting yesterday and says..."elder.______ says to say hi to you" ... as we were talking after the meeting.. (this is the guy who was at my house telling me i should go to another hall, as i was no longer welcome there.).
i wish i would have thought to say...you should have told him that : ... i was celebrating five years of not attending.!.
but i did'nt think of it till later last night.

My boyfriend at the time called and said something weird was going on with cell phones on planes, they were blowing up...then after watching the news for a while we got more information. I remember being absolutely glued to the TV. i couldn;t believe something like that could actually happen.

My First Earthquake and I Didn't Even Feel It
by Kenneson inthere was an 6.0 earthquake yesterday morning along the west coast of florida and you would know it i didn't even feel it.
it's really rather bizarre, as some people felt it and others didn't.
but, in a sense, i'm glad that it was nothing serious--at least no one was hurt and there was no damage.
