Remember the story of the so called kidnapper who was hiding under the bed of a child, had been waiting there all day, and when it was nght time, the Mother came in and read to the child some dub publication before he went to sleep. Apparently, something she read caught the potential kidnappers attention, and when all were asleep, instead of kidnapping the child, he stole the dub publication and took off. Years later, he walked up to the woman and handed over the stolen book and explained to her that he was no longer a kidnapper, but now a bobifide baptized dub, all thanks to her reading to her child that night. Allways smelled funny to me...........

Why do you think Mormons are more acceptable in society then Witnesses?

I have never found them to be as accepted. It seems like, around here, they are in the same class as each other. In high school, the Mormons were not near as accepted as the JW.

Ever know anyone killed by a drunk driver?
by free2beme inoften people i work with will mention how they, or someone they knew, drove when they had been drinking.
although they make light of it, because they lived and no one got hurt, they seem to develop a braver and more confident ability in their driving while intoxicated and seem to think the law is not for them.
i personally, hate to hear about this and this is why.. a good friend of our family, a non witness that we grew up with.

We had a very good friend we grew up with that was hit head on by a drunk driver when she was 17, almost 18. Her Mom broke her neck and her boyfriend broke his back. Her two sister suffered major injuries as well. The guy had his small son with him in the front seat. Both of them were injured, although not seriously. It was devastating to her family.
My Mom was hit by a drunk driver 15 years ago and still suffers pain in her back as a result.

Men, women and toilet seat etiquette
by Gregor ini've never quite understood the big deal about men leaving the toilet seat up but since i hear so much about it i try to comply.
i do have a pet peeve.
sometimes when i lift the seat there are obvious signs on the underside that a female has used it and not bothered to 'tidy up'.

OH NO!!!! I just a repressed memory surface thanks to Hubert. One time I was engaged to this horrid little man and he worked evenings until about 4 in the morning and he would come home and do the number two, and WOULDN'T FLUSH because he said he didn't want to wake me up. I said PLEASE OH PLEASE risk waking me up!!! I will go back to sleep, but going into the bathroom first thing in the morning and being awakend by that filth was beyond sick!!!!!!!!

my question is this; if a sister in the congregation decided she wanted to have a baby, but was not married and went to a fertility clinic and was artificially inseminated, could she be disfellowshiped?
she didnt have sex, so she did not commit fornication.

I remember hearing about this once. I believe the answer was yes, she can be df because she is using her body unaturally. I may be wrong now, but that is what I heard.

i actually used to live about three houses down from these people.
when i read of something like this, it makes me all the more careful as a parent and never assume anything when it comes to your young children.
