I'll do it, just need to know when. I agree with Seeker, they should be spread out.

How Accurate is Your Bull$h!t Detector?
by Scully ini think everyone has a bs detector, but not everyone utilizes theirs, or ignores its warnings.. i find that mine seems very sensitive and unless i "feel" sincerity from the person i am sizing up, my bs detector has various levels of "alert" mode.. in "yellow alert" mode, i tend to be very guarded with personal information until the individual's behaviour identifies whether i should maintain that status quo or not.
this seems to be my default setting, i think, because i tend to use it with all new people i encounter.. in "orange alert" mode, there's something about the person that just is not meshing with me.
they may be trying to cross a boundary that i do not want them to cross, like bestowing a nickname on me without asking me if i'm ok with it first.

I think mine is pretty good, thanks to the training my husband has given me in BullSh*T 101. I can detect it a mile away now.

What Kinds of Weird Things were you banned from or not allowed as a child?
by mama1119 ini could not have a big new kids on the block pin, or wear any new kids on the block pins in puplic becuase it was considered idolatry.
i also could not wear my shoes without laces (it was cool back then) because it looked wordly.
what other strange theings besides the usual holiday/birthday stuff weren't you allowed to do?

Name Things JWs Try To "Demonize"
by minimus inthe witnesses are always trying to scare the faithful by telling them that if they don't adhere to the teachings and lifestyle of the brotherhood-----that bad things are going to happen to them.
for example, they might tell you of brother regret who left the "truth", had "fun" in the "world" and then got aids.
now he's back in the "truth" but he only has months to live................can you think of other examples of how the witnesses try to spook the rank and file?

Scripturally Free to Remarry?
by limbogirl inhad a discussion with a friend of mine yesterday -- she's still semi in the borg.
anyway, she says she's free to remarry as defined by dub rules.
she's divorced, however, there was no cheating by either party in the marriage.

The fact that threee dudes are allowed to run your life like that is nuts!!! I knew this weirdo family where the son married this other VERY young JW girl. After they got married it came out that she was already pregnant, and somehow they ended up divorced right away. Well, the weirdo family wanted their son to be scriptually free, so they followed this girl around for like year, stalking her, all taking turns to see if there was any possibility of her cheating. And she was so fed up, she did, just to get them off her back. And they were so incredibly excited he was now free. Then they tried to get full custody of the baby, using her sleeping with another guy as a good reason to take her child away. Perhaps the stalking on their part might make them look a little wacky...

Remember the Written Review
by 30girl inwhat exactly was the purpose of the written review?
it was extremely helpful that the society warned you on the calendars which night you had to skip... we had those boards that they passed out so you had a good writing surface, often covered with witness grafiti like, jesus or jehovah or something biblical.
remember the little grading sheet on the back; excellent, very good, good -- was there a poor?

I loved the writen review, just keep your eyes on your paper, do a little doodling, no boring talks to listen too for a while, and then just fill in the correct answer as they were called. I rarely got any correct on my own. I loved when people would so confidently answer a question and be shot down with a "no, that is not correct, anyone else." Did elders have a cheat sheet. I bet they did.

Oh I just remembered the one about the JW who was getting mugged and the mugger was going to stab him and then all of a sudden, low and behold, the muggers body just froze and his hand with knife was just stuck in mid air as the JW walked away, unscathed. What a bunch of bunk!!

Why does LOVE hurt so bad ?
by oldflame ini am a 45 year old man who has lived a single life for so long, for too long.
i have dated several in the past few years andhave got serious a time or two.
but it never fails when someone comes along that really trips your trigger, you fall so hard for someone who really fits your wants needs and desires in everyway a man could want and then it happens.

I am sorry you are hurting. What a tough situation. But, be assured, it is not you. Some women have that draw to "bad boys".

Earthtone...My brother is a sonographer and he says the same exact thing. He says it takes alot of concentration to figure out what he is looking at (he does alot of vascular ultrasounds) and if he is quiet, people get all upset like he is hiding things from them, and even more upset when he says he is just doing the exam, the Dr will have to talk to them about the results. I am sure it is so frustrating.
