Im pretty sure most of the JW in my area rely heavily on frozen dinners, by the looks of it.

Alone With the Opposite Sex
by purplesofa inover the last few months i have been training three different men for backup position of my job.. we are alone in my car all day.. as a jw, i remember one time, needing to go to another congo in a different town to work on a part at an assembly.
i was to ride with the brother doing the part.
he was probably at least 30+ years older than me.

I did find it strange how afraid JW were to be alone with the opposite sex. I mean, a few minutes of aloness and they are going to start stripping?? Isn;t their faith suppossed to be stronger than that?? Doesn't say a whole lot for them

Thoughts On Holidays...
by Sunspot inwe are all somewhat painfully aware of how the watchtower society views celebrating "normal" holidays that most other religions "normally" celebrate.. .
for those of you that were jws and did not participate in these holidays,.
do you celebrate them now?.

I ALWAYS wanted to celebrate holidays and birthdays. I was very envious of my cousins, growing up, because they got to spend holidays with my Grandparents. I know it had a big affect on my Mom not celebrating anymore, it was very hard on her the first couple of years she said. But, i do celebrate most now, and it is beginning to feel more normal. It was odd feeling at first, because I didn;t really know what I was doing, but I am glad my daughter will have memories.

Do YOU Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus insome habits are hard to break.
many of us were raised as jws and when people try to 'put you down', they might say something like, "you're still acting like a witness".
i wonder whether or not we sometimes do exhibit witness "traits".

I hope that I don't, but I do find myself making flash judgements sometimes. I also still get intense guilt over little things, thinking I am not doing enough, that type of stuff, but nothing near what it was like in the borg.

any one want to talk
by ttforb ini was a jw and i d/a myself.. i have sinced married and had two wonderful kids, my parents are still jws, and hardly ever see my kids.
i do not regret d/a myself,my parents are the ones missing out on their grandkids,.
i was accused of doing something and the brothers acted like they did not believe me, i told them that the only ones who mattered,was me the other person and god.

Thank you Jehovah for answered prayers
by Annie Over inwhen i got off for lunch today i decided to go to the walmart deli and get something to eat.
it is a huge store, groceries, a bakery, mc donalds, a bank , eye center, beauty shop, a great deli, and a huge garden center.
i had taken back a 80 gig hard drive dvd recorder ( i couldn't figure out how to hook up <smile> and had received 238.00. i picked up a couple of things in the store then went to the deli.

Intellectual dishonesty in the New Tract !

on page three when the wts is describing 'false religion' riding on the back of the scarlet colored wild beast - they coyly refer to the beast as ' the world's political powers*'
- the footnote reads " * for a detailed explanation of this subject, see the book revelation - its grand climax at hand published by jehovah's witnesses.

I really don't care if they get married or not. Maybe they both had bad experiences and don't want to repeat it. Or maybe they are comfortable where they are at now and don;t feel the need. Or...maybe they secretly are married.....hmmmmmm.......

Are people still becoming JWs in the West?
by greendawn ingiven the exposure that the wts receives on the internet or in books and the fact that the public in general must have realised by now that the jws are a double faced organisation that does not deliver what it promises, do you know of any total outsiders, ie those that did not grow up as jws, that are now moving into this org?
.
to us who have been there and seen it all this seems very odd, but no doubt many of these new dubs will in the future move out in the midst of a lot of turbulance.
