Make up a bounced email reply. You know, that "mailer-demon" whatever that is that you get when you send an email to a dead addy.... And send it to him. He'll think your email address is gone and maybe won't bug you again..

Do You Miss Not Being With Your JW Family & Friends?
by minimus inpersonally, i keep very little contact with any of my witness family except my mom.
i don't miss the conditional friends or family, really.
but i do know that many here are devastated by their being abandoned.

No one who chooses a nameless, faceless corporation over a living, breathing, memory-sharing human being do i want as a friend.
This sums it up for me. JW 'friends' of 15+ years ... *poof*
Screw 'em. I've found and adore a whole bunch of genuine, 'thick and thin' friends that mean the world to me. And I know they won't turn their backs on me for not believing as they do.

I have this every now and then. When I check "network for errors" or whatever that is, it's always ok... I thought it was my computer (old POS) so do a shutdown/restart. Sometimes that fixes it, sometimes not. Usually I just give up and come back later.
Not much help, huh?

Children Do Not Get Enough Sleep in Watchtower
by WTWizard inthis past memorial was an exercise in waste for most people.
drive to the hall, fight for a parking space, get booted out of your seat, and then listen to a stale talk for 45 minutes.
then the big event: passing the plate of crackers and glass of spoiled grape juice.

This was always a huge sore point for me, too. I have three kids 'raised in the troof' until just over a year ago. They're 9, 11 and 13 and I always just HATED getting out of meetings so late on school nights, knowing the next morning would be a battle and that they'd be sleepy at school. Despite what the WT said, I was always and still am pro-education. Even at elementary level as that sets the routines for later. My poor kids were falling asleep Thurs nights in their seats and I just let them... screw what the elders thought. (but I did certainly find out what they thought -- they told me to keep them awake. Morons)
I agree that this cult system is NOT kid-friendly, and in fact goes the way opposite. I guess maybe keeping them tired keeps them susceptible for the brainwashing, who knows.
Stupid WTS...

What Freedoms Do You Enjoy Now That You're Not A Witness?
by minimus inthe watchtower scoffs at "apostates" because they want their "so-called freedom".
not practicing this religion does give you a lot of freedom and normalcy.
what freedoms do you cherish now?

I absolutely agree with the comments about birthdays & holidays. I just sent out three Mother's Day cards today and it felt so wonderful to do so. There was a twinge to it as well, having missed out on doing this for many many years. Now that I'm doing birthdays, it's amazing just how freaking MANY there are. LOL Relatives, friends... I'm turning into my mother who bought cards months in advance for nearly a whole year's worth of b'days & holidays. :)
There's also something about hearing my kids sing at the Christmas concerts at school... my middle one wanting to kick ass in track when she's old enough... my youngest wants my man to teach him to hunt....
A whole new free world. I almost want to add a sympathy card to my "send" pile to all the JW I left behind ... I don't think they know just how sad and trapped they really are.

Ok, there really are *other* things I'm enjoying besides my man. I have a few close second-placers:
I enjoy sleeping in on Sat/Sun mornings, taking the kids for ice cream drives on "meeting nights", meeting an elder on the road and not worrying about who I have in the jeep that I'll get a "uh, Rachel? We saw you ALONE with a man in your vehicle..." phonecall (in fact, I've successfully flipped the bird to both elders on my JC while meeting them on the road... childish, yes, but needed done)... reading whatever the hell I want, including this board... going to any movies without having to worry about who's gonna see me there.... knowing that my life or the kids' WILL be saved with blood if necessary...
My biggest freedom, in all serious, is the freedom to just BE MYSELF. (including, but not limited to, that sex thing...)

A question for all Whisky drinkers.
by lfcviking inhello chumz on the board.
nothing really to do with jwism but who prefers the american 'bourbon' type such as 'wild turkey', 'jim beam' etc or who prefers a fine single malt scotch such as 'glenfiddich' or 'glenmorangie'?
i am not trying to stir up nationalism with this question but am just genuinely curious.. lfcv.

Not an expert by any means here, but I've tried a few different whiskeys and scotches. I went through a phase a couple years ago. Can't remember the names now. (maybe they were THAT GOOD?)
I remain a Jack girl.

Man, that new hibachi should add zest to the tailgate party I'm planning.
I think I like this idea. Set up some grills with some brats, burgers and chops sizzlin... Cooler of Bud Light... That would have gotten MY attention at a DC.
