18Why elders are so CERTAIN of they OWN OPINIONS
by BonaFide inelders are told they are appointed by holy spirit.
that means the supreme god of the universe used his force to appoint them over the flock.. that is a major big deal.. so when they get in that back room, and the body of elders meets, or they are on a judicial committee or shepherding or whatever, they think they are speaking for jehovah god himself.. do we realize what that means?
that means that when they feel something, or they are emotional about something, or they get mad at someone in that room, they feel that is holy spirit directing them.. they don't realize they are on their own.

Anyone have a good Meeting for Field Service story?
by BonaFide inoh, yes those wonderful meetings for service.
for some reason, they are so long and disorganized and boring.
seems no one wants to get out there in the territory.. i remember in one hall when i was a teenager, a ministerial servant, about 50 years old, would conduct the midweek meeting for service at the kh at 9 am.

It's not the same to make NEW FRIENDS, I want to keep my OLD FRIENDS - Am I right?
by BonaFide ini appreciate all the advice on here about making friends outside the organization.. i am making new friends, both at work and at school.. but it's not the same as old friends.. my old friends i grew up with.
i sometimes go to the movies with them, dumb movies.
like that night at the museum, smithsonian one.

being raised a jw will make you miss out on ordainary kid things.
you can't have any friends except witnesses---and only jws that measure up.

If WT have the legal right to stone us...would they do it???
by JustHuman14 inwe all know wt's view of "apostates"and disfellowshiped persons.
they grap from the old testament quotes that "god's people, isralites" stone to death the evil doers, even the unobedient children.
the first one to cast the stone was a close relative, parents, brothers, sisters.

grade/high school feelings you get from WT...no matter your age...
by oompa ini am an adult.....my friends here and elsewhere are adults too......janitors, painters, lawyers, carpenters, students, dancers........but some have also been made to feel like children by the elders......the power they wield is more like a teacher or principle........when the shit starts hittin the fan, it is kinda funny how many of us relate to this feeling of being in trouble in school........and your parents will find out............oompa.

An elder's wife added me to Facebook and msn.
by merfi ini da'd in feb 06. hadn't heard a word from any jw since then.. about a month or 3 weeks ago, i emailed an elder to ask if my 15yo was still on whatever publisher list it is now.
when i left, she had just been announced (i think) an unbaptized pub.
so i was curious about her 'status'.
