Is this a "staying in the group" technique?
by I-follow-the-narrow-path ini noticed that some of the members in the church are giving me gifts... for no apparent reason.
are they just nice, or do they do this to keep me in the church.
also, if i hear the word "the truth" one more time... ahhh... i keep hearing it left and right... it seems weird to hear.

Do you group think or think for yourself?
by free2beme inas a witness, i was very prone to follow the group of thinking that was in the kingdom hall and not speak out for myself.
i am sure a lot of us would agree, this is the general pattern of most good little witnesses.
yet, in my post-witness life experience, i have learned this is about as common a thing in life, as there could be.

If you mean by "GROUP" a few people who put their collective intelligence together to solve a problem that needs solving....That's a good thing.
On the other hand some people can and do solve the problem alone and without help. That is OK too.

NO! I sat next to a fellow I didn't regonize in the KH who said he was disfellowshiped but I talked to him anyway...I didn't care. He seemed to me a nice enough person...
BUT then there was a young woman who I knew was disfellowshiped and I wanted to just go over to her and say hello but her family which I was friends with, would not let me. She was reinstated a year later. Then love bombed by all in the cong. Including me.

Extra training ... so you know that shooting babies is WRONG ?!?
by Simon inhow dumb and pathetic.. no extra training should be necessary for even slightly trained and disciplined soldiers.
i guess it is for some of the rabble that the us call "troops" though.. of course the real problem is not just those on the ground that have committed the latest attrocity.
it is the chain of command that tried to cover it up and all the way up to the president who sanctions bombing of civilian targets with nothing more than rumour for "intelligence".. from now on america, you are on your own.

Honestly! As Americans we should have never Interfered in the war between the Arab countries that was already in progress when Clinton and Bush went over there, to try and settle the 5000 year old on-going dispute for whatever reason.Americans DID NOT start the war in Iraq.....read your history! There is no excuse when Innocent men, women and children are killed....However!
Let me ask you this question: Have you been in combat where your buddies were killed and you didn't know who the enemy was? It can make anyone blind with madness. I am not making excusses for what those soldiers did...it was wrong.
But unless you have been in combat such as theirs....have more understanding.

Can someone of the 144,000 get kicked out after entering heaven ???
by The_Replacement inso, if someone is of the 144,000, dies, and supposedly goes to heaven, is it still possible for them to be misled, or kicked out, thus needing another replacement.
if the answer is yes, i guess the 144,000 will never be completed, in fact eventually they will have 144,000 replacements, then 144,000 replacements replacing the replacements, doh !

the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!
they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".
