Personally Minimus, I hope we all get to LIVE now before we die. Not just EXIST in hopes of getting to live in some 'promised new paradise earth' sometime in the unknown future.

how many people on here who were or are jws, owned or ran a buisness who would not willingly let people at the k hall know, maybe to avoid feeling like you had to give your fellow brothers and sisters a discount, or free help, or out of fear of being judged.

did you only help out the pioneers?

and not the poor ones?

This is a sore subject with me. There is an INACTIVE (he does not go out in field service but attends most meetings) brother in my old hall that owns a landscaping business. He is INVITED to work on every quick build in the Circuit and does tree work on established Halls for free. It is the same old double standard. If the Jehovahs Witnesses can get something from you for FREE that they can't get from some other source then they don't care what your standing is in the congregation or in the world. Hypocrisy fine tuned and practised as an art!

how much of the watchtower and the bible do the governing body know, ray franz jr. said he was not impressed with their bible knowledge and their lack of knowledge of the watchtower cannon.

Governing Body Signing the New Bibles?

my husband said that this was mentioned in a video he watched?

Actually those bibles in the photo-op are not the NEW Silver Sword(tm) bible from 2013. If you look closely the covers are black. It looks like the Governing Body needs to make a return visit on the Cuban Government and bring them copies of the new New World Translation revised-2013. They can start their time by leaving a tract in a laundramat on their way to the airport or waiting room at the airport while wearing their JW.ORG buttons. Then they can fly down to Cuba, hob nob with some politicians, leave a tract or two in a coffee shop. Then they can take a tour of Cuba, give the tour operator a tract and still be wearing their JW.ORG buttons. When they are ready to fly home, they can leave a tract with the mens room attendant at the airport. Still wearing their JW.ORG buttons they can give the stewardess a tract when boarding the plane. When they touchdown back in New York they can hail a taxi to take them back to their earthly paradise compound but make sure to leave a tract with the taxi driver and still be wearing their JW.ORG buttons. They each can count the entire trip as field service time and declare that the Governing Body all auxillary pioneered during their trip to Cuba. Nice gig,if you can get it!

This story takes me back to the early 70's when a nice, unassuming and loving older Elder refused to pay PART of a bill (I think it was around $35.00 to $40.00) for work that was done on his home. He had disputed the workmanship and the materials used on his home.The 'worldly' fellow that did the work complained to the Presiding Overseer about the matter and he TOOK the older Elder to this mans place of business and made him pay for his work in full. He said it was important to pay the bill even if you are in the right so as not to bring 'dishonor' to Jehovahs name. Fast forward about 4 years and the Presiding Overseer now owns a mechanized firewood processing plant. He went into business with a young brother in the hall that had a small family and put his whole life savings into the business venture. In a very short time, the business failed and the Presiding Overseer declared bankruptcy. Needless to say the other brother that he was in business with became 'stumbled' and left the 'truth'. The Presiding Overseer is still active to this day and was used extensively on Circuit and District Assembly programs and as a temporary Circuit Overseer. I hope that the disfellowshipped man has all his business records in order and is in the right! If he is right than he should sue EVERYONE possible so as to restore his good name.

I think the Judge got rid of the other directors because the automobile insurance premiums were too high for the Society to carry on more than one Corporate Director. It is easier to hide the 'perks' when only one Official 'steals' (I mean enjoys corporate perks) then if there are 'too many fingers in the pie'. Remember kids: IT'S GOOD TO BE KING!!

Mark Sanderson - Why Is the Newest GB Member Suddenly So Prominent?

i've noticed something that is very odd even by wt/gb standards.

why is mark sanderson suddenly so prominent in all things wt/jw?.

others have commented on the obvious narcissism of the gb pushing themselves to the fore recently, in particular after their huge doctrinal change at proclaiming themselves and only themselves as the faithful and discreet slave.. this is clearly true as evidenced at the agm, not only throughout the agm, but also in the video that was featured as part of that meeting.

I can't stand the sight of him. He reminds me of my old pioneer partner and shares the same first name. No offense to anyone posting here but what does a 54 or 55 year old (however old he is) virgin really know about 'life'?
