I agree with you 100% Terry. Anyone that has a long history with this religion, if he is honest with himself, can see the handwriting on the wall. Changing the meaning of the 'parable of the ten virgins' is much like your analogy of replacing solid bricks in a wall with wooden ones. The book GODS KINGDON OF A THOUSAND YEARS HAS APPROACHED printed by the Watchtower Society in 1973 has quite an indepth discussion on the parable of the ten virgins. It is Chapter 11 entitled "HERE IS THE BRIDEGROOM". Much of the premise of the chapter is to show that the parable proves Jesus was enthroned as King in 1914 and that Jehovah chose this organization in 1919 as the 'wise virgin class'. Like I said in an previous post, this Governing Body is 'tearing down the house with their own hands'. It only remains to be seen how they will rebuild and recraft their 'dogma and new light' without completely destroying the whole religion.

Perhaps the Groom is the last Ministerial Servant left in her circuit and she thinks she can never get married? Maybe she committed fornication with the Groom and knows that he is lousey in bed. She might be torn between confessing to the Elders and be disfellowshipped or telling the unfortunate Bride that she is about to make the biggest mistake of her life. Maybe she is a single mother and the Groom molested her child and the Elders told her not to gossip about it and she wants to warn the Bride but doesn't want to be disfellowshipped for causing divisions. Maybe the brother giving the talk just farted and she is about to puke? I guess only she knows for sure.

How in the flying fu@k do the members of Governing Body 2.0 sleep at night? Have they never read the book YOU MAY SURVIVE ARMAGEDDON INTO GODS NEW WORLD published in 1955 by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society? The ENTIRE book is devoted to types and antitypes! Page 16 paragraph 16 says the following: "We need not be filled with fear, dread and horror as we take up an examination of Armageddon and what will follow. No matter how terrible that war will be, we can know its righteous purpose, and always we can let ring in our inner consciousness the cheering thought: 'I may survive Armageddon into Gods new world!' This thought is no self-deceiving dream. The same inspired Word that unerringly foretold the very situation that we face up to in this generation also drew many pictures, staged many prophetic dramas and presented many direct prophecies of the ones to be protected all through the war of Armageddon. 17. It sharpens our interest to consider that unavoidable war from the standpoint of those who will live through it into the grandeurs of Gods new world. In fact, it becomes an absorbing, delightsome, thrilling consideration for us. (Capitals mine) There is even a CHART in the appendix on page 367 that is entitled: LIST OF 42 TYPES AND PROPHECIES OF THE EARTHLY HEIRS OF THE NEW WORLD. Interestly enough, this is the book my mother studied that sent her on the road to a lifetime of Jehovahs Witnesses religious fanaticism. If she were alive today I wonder what she would be thinking? Yesterdays 'meat in due season' becomes todays SHIT to flush down the toilet as the words in the Bible are 'digested' and reinterpreted by each succesive Governing Body and presented to the rank and file as 'new light' to be gulped down without question or critical thought.

My problem with Original Sin
by leftbelow ini found this quote in a book i was reading and it struck me this is why original sin is a problem for me.. damnation is the start of your morality, destruction is its purpose, means and end.
your code begins by damning man as evil, then demands that he practice a good which it defines as impossible for him to practice.
it demands, as his first proof of virtue, that he accept his own depravity without proof.

Not wanting to be confusing about this subject, I was merely quoting the scripture that most 'so-called' Christians use to 'prove' the doctrine of original sin. Since I consider myself 'boderline agnostic' I don't look to the Bible as a final authority on the human condition or the future of humanity. I never looked to see which Psalmist wrote this and so I don't really know. Some Jewish scholars do indeed teach that there is no such thing as original sin and that the Hebrew scriptures contain no such doctrine. However, there is no hard and fast agreement that St. Augustine coined the phrase or created the doctrine of original sin. Perhaps this website will be of interest to you.
