Governing Body went from anonymous secret group to T.V Stars??? How?
by Witness 007 inwhen i grew up in the 1980's -90's it was rare to see a faithful slaves picture in 10 years of watchtowers.
everything was anonymous.
no one really knew there names except for the "holy oricle" fred franz.. now they are full on t.v stars with there own show.

whenever i tell people i'm ex jehovahs witnesses, they always assume that i'm against the jehovahs witnesses, but i am more so against the watchtower then anything.people assume that i'm anti-jehovahs witness, but now that i've done more research i've realized that its the watchtower thats more harmful then the jehovahs witnesses, even though theres a lot of jehovahs witnesses i dont like, i'm not against jehovahs witnesses as a group.. can anyone explain this to me?.

Gross! Grooming of young brothers in the KH to do more for Jehobadahhh and his organ-nigh-say-shun! I saw it myself.
by macys inso there is this young brother probably 14 or 15 and the elders are already grooming him to do more for jehobadahhh.
most of the elders in this kh are old like 60+ and sometimes there are not enough brothers to do the mics or sound so you will see a 70 year old elder forced into action.
almost comical to see a brother who thinks instagram is an email service try to operate the sound system and projector as he plays the wrong song or brings the screen down during a prayer.

I bet if you ask some of the older posters here that were raised in the religion they will have a story similar to mine. At 12 years old I was the permanent reader at the Book Study and one of the attendants at the Kingdom Hall. We moved to where the need was greater and I was baptized at 15 years old. Our congregation was holding rural meetings on Sunday to start a new congregation and the only two brothers were me and an Elder. I was the official chairman every other meeting and the permanent Watchtower reader. At the Circuit Assembly I was the assistant attendant servant. When I was 17 years old I was 'sent' (I hate that) to pioneer in a congregation with only 2 Ministerial Servants and NO Elders. The Circuit Overseer contacted the Service Department to see if they would appoint me a Ministerial Servant (as a carrot I think to give me a reason to stay in this congregation and not go to Bethel) and he was told that they would do it. When the CO asked if I could be appointed an Elder at 18 the Service Department said that they didn't think that it would be a problem but that the Governing Body(tm) would have the final say. The Watchtower Society liked to groom their 'company men' from a young age years ago because it worked so well. Give a young man position and prestige and he won't be able to give it up that easily. Once you get used to the position you tend to get comfortable and stay along for the ride.

This thread got me to thinking. Like compound complex, I was a Bethelite in the '70's. Like him, I received $14.00 a month plus $6.00 travel allowance which would equal $240.00 for a year. Just out of curiosity, I went online and checked my Social Security statement. Oddly enough, for the year 1975 my income was reported as $1,069.00 and I did not have an outside job. Any ex-Bethelites here that worked in the Treasurers Office that can shed some light on this discrepancy?
