Cart "Witnessing"
by Funchback inbesides being a waste of time for those doing it, and being an easy way for the society to inflate its reports of time spent in the ministry, cart witnessing is also taking up space.
i live in a hot city in brazil.
today, the jws decided to set up their cart in the shady spot of the bus stop, where people going to work have to wait for the bus.. ugh!.

The UNHOLY TRININTY of it's day. N.H.Knorr, J.F.Rutherford and H.C.Covington.
Notice the 'smiles' on the faces of Covington and 'Brownie' Knorr........both fawning over Rutherford like he was Jesus Christ himself.

TimeBandit, your work is FANTASTIC!
I thought of an animated parody that you could make based on the Wizard of Oz. You could call it: THE WIZARD OF A LOST CAUSE.
Wizard of a Lost Cause: JehovahScarecrow: N.H. Knorr
Cowardly Lion: J. F. Rutherford
Tin Man: C.T. Russell
Wicked Witch: Maria Russell
Munchkins: Circuit and District Overseers
Flying Monkeys: Evil Slave Class
Dorothy: Rose Ball or Berta Peale
Soldiers at the Castle: Dismissed members of the original Board of Directors
Uncle Henry: Lon Schilling or John Marcus or John Booth
Auntie Em: Ladonna Schilling or Estelle Marcus or Ethel Kadelchick (Ethel from Bethel)
Just a thought. Maybe some other ex-Bethelites have some ideas. Billy?

1930s Vertical Phonograph for Bethelites and Pioneers- of passing interest.
by Balaamsass2 injust thought this might be of passing interest to a few members.
we were unpacking some estate items from a 1930s bethelite and were confounded by his vertical phonograph.
lots of old rutherford books, and some trashed rutherford records, but the phonograph was something to behold.

"Grant Suiter always had nice suits"...................and if I remember correctly his wife was a walking Tiffany's jewelry store! Being the Overseer of the Office of the Treasurer sure had it's perks. You could have 'first crack' at all the jewelry that little old lady witnesses donated to the Society in their wills and then purchase high end jewelry for your wife at pennies on the dollar,as a donation to the Society, using 'green handshake' money that you received the previous weekend giving a 'service talk' at a Kingdom Hall in East Podunk, USA. Every time that I ever saw Lyman Swingle he always wore that double breasted, medium toned blue, 100% wool suit that looked like he bought it in 1938 and was made from the same crude material that a horse blanket would be made from. But his wife would have more jewelry on than Cleopatra and the Queen of England combined.

Believer.......I accept your apology. If you will notice, any time that I have posted on one of your threads, I have never, ever resorted to calling you names or demeaning your personhood in any way. If you check back, you will find that I have stated that you have every right to believe anything you want. What I have done is 'lampooned' your beliefs quite heavily and this I certainly own up to and I will continue to do so if I have the urge. When I gave you my friendly advice it was in reference to how other posters are reacting to you. The mirror and the advice have nothing to do with me since I can't find any instance where you have said anything personally negative towards me. I have been on this forum for 10 years and never once have I felt that my 'skin' was abraded to the point that it was too 'thin' to continue a discussion. I hope you enjoy your time here but you must realize by now that the majority of the posters here are not 'religious' to any degree. There are some very nice, kind and thoughtful believers here. Maybe you should restrict your interaction on this forum to like minded individuals and respectfully decline to engage in a discussion with those whose beliefs do not resonate with your own
