What is having the biggest impact on the watchtower Bible and tract society?
by UnshackleTheChains inhi all.. this is a reasonable question and would love to know what you think is having the biggest impact on watchtower.
there is a plethora of websites talking negatively of watchtower.

This is What I Would Need in Order to Believe
by cofty insometimes theists challenge atheists about what evidence would be required before they would believe.
various unlikely scenarios are offered in reply.
i have taken the bait myself in the past.. i think the correct answer is much more ordinary.

I agree with Cofty and Noam Chomsky. Why do Christian apologists ignore the obvious facts in order to defend the invisible fables?

What is it like at Warwick Bethel?
by nevermind infrom reading about people's first and second hand experiences about working at wt world headquarters back in the 70s and 80s era, the hypocrisy and lovelessness caused many bethelites to quit even before their term ended, some even leaving to never again return to a kingdom hall.
that, coupled with open access back then at bethel to the literature of watchtower's early days can easily open the eyes of any rank and file jw to the society's occultish beginnings.
fast forward to the warwick bethel today.

Shunning - Are Mothers Most Fanatical?
by Lostandfound inon many posts by those with experience of df or da shunning, it look to me that the most fanatical observers of the shunning practise are mothers, and when a person approached parents about their own doubts or intentions, approaching the mother the most daunting prospect .
odd that visiting warwick leaflet has a picture of a meeting of some sort with a room comprising men only, given the subordinate role given to women, one might think they would be more liberal over shunning close ones, but not so.. what drives this, is it grabbing an opportunity to be more visible by their loyalty, or low level of education of a lot of dubs so that the sisters blindly accept direction or authority.
i might have expected some kick back against the shunning practise by sisters giving evidence to their independence of thought.. our real thinkers here will be able to explain this fanaticism of loyalty better.

Shunning a disfellowshipped child is a very odd and extremely dysfunctional family dynamic: "I will deny my earthly, fleshly child real, warm human love so that I can gain the spiritual love of my heavenly, invisible father." That is one twisted way to look at life!

My all time favorite 'Theocratic Calendar'! Sam Van Sipma told me that Rutherford finally got disgusted with the time taken away from editing the Golden Age magazine by C.J. Woodworth. Sam told me that Rutherford finally told Woodworth: 'Stop wasting time on that god damned calendar and get back to doing your job!' C.C., do you remember Sam?

I am not interested and apparently my dog isn't either. Good luck getting off my porch.
And then they closed the door on me and left me trapped on their porch.

Dr. James Dobson, author of The Strong Willed Child is an Evangelical Christian. At one time, the New York Times called him: 'the nation's most influential evangelical leader." You are in good company, Governing Body (tm) of Jehovah's Witnesses. Keep making asses of yourselves by quoting on the one hand and then condemning with the other hand members of mainstream Christianity.
