  _Morpheus, I think you are wasting your time trying to be sensible and appeal to reason.When it comes to the exciting predictions of the demise of WATCHTOWER and Jehovah's Witnesses in general, the real facts of how American corporate business is conducted is ignored and denigrated. What is also neglected, from a religious standpoint, is how tenacious a 'true believer' can be in supporting and protecting the organization that brought them spiritual comfort and group identity.

  my first job before armageddonprologue: i left texas in 1974 and headed west to california to search for a job as an artist.

  i didn't want to spend the rest of my life toiling for minimum wage as a janitor jehovah's witness.it was the year before 1975. as a jw, that should be a scary year.

  not for me!i was determined to escape from all the influences of crazy people and to start living a real life.and now the story begins...______he was a tall man with a full and kinky black beard, glasses, and pretentious poseur pipe.. his name was jim rakey (rhymes with "flakey") and he belonged to a cult dedicated to the eternal truth: atlantis (the lost continent) would rise again from the sea as the enlightened government for all the world.

  Oh my god........this reminds me of a funny story. I had a friend that used to work on the 'wrappers'. That was the machine that used to wrap the magazines to be sent out to individual subscribers. At any rate, my friend had the habit of using 'unchristian' language while working the machine. Just his luck, he was assigned a 'newboy' to work on his team. A more self righteous prick you could not find. He would carry the bible and an AID book to work every morning and he would whistle and hum Kingdom Songs all day long. My friend didn't take kindly to the 'newboy's' musical repertoire and would swear at him from time to time and tell him to stop. If it was the 'newboy's' turn to be the feeder, he would shut off the machine and immediately lecture my friend and then report to the Factory Overseer my friends grave moral sins. My friend complained to me about it and my advice was as follows: 'Just bide your time. This guy is a moral loose cannon and his self righteous exterior is to cover over something. He'll be gone soon...just wait and see.' Well I'll be God damned! He came in one Monday morning with no bible, no AID book and musical repertoire. But he went to work! After lunch, he was no where to be found. He was gone! Apparently he had been having sex with a 13 year old girl in his congregation and was disfellowshipped that Sunday night. Word didn't get back from the congregation to the Bethel office until some time that morning. Once the Bethel Office found out, he was HISTORY. Out of the building before 5 o'clock that evening. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving little prick. I know of at least 2 others (1 a BETHEL Elder) that this happened to. Thanks for jogging my memory....it was good for a laugh!

  chapter 31. murder suicide and death at the big house.

  the people at bethel were killing us spiritually and sometimes they killed us physically too.. many of the old timers were in the infirmary laying there just waiting to die of natural causes.

  some had served there for over fifty years.

  At 62 years old, some of my memories are hazy. If I remember correctly, his parents had children a little later in life and I think that they were in their 50's at the time of Jimmy's death. I was the youngest in my family and my mother was just 50 when I became a Bethelite and so I compare their looks and demeanor to my mother and figure that they were slightly older than her. At any rate, they were 'dyed in the wool' true blue Witnesses and one of Jimmy's grandfather's was an old time Circuit Overseer. Jimmy had 'large shoes to fill' and I don't think he had the temperament to do so and to me, his mother seemed cold, distant and not affectionate at all, so she probably did not give him much emotional support. Kind of like Mary Tyler Moore in the movie ORDINARY PEOPLE. I never saw them after my Watchtower Farms experience, but I believe Diogenesister has made a correct observation in saying that 'it's doubtful they ever woke up.'

  How Rutherford did a backflip (flop) off the Great Pyramid

  in 1924, judge rutherford published an article which referred to the great pyramid as "the scientific bible" and added that measurements on the grand gallery inside the great pyramid confirmed the dates 1874, 1914 and 1925.. 1925 was the famous blowout date for the return of "ancient worthies" about which the judge said, "i made an ass of myself.".

  just four years later, rutherford did one of his famous about-face reversals.. whereas previously the watchtower had taught that the great pyramid was probably built by melchizedek, or shem;*.

  rutherford now said the great pyramid was constructed "under the direction of satan the devil.
