Darrell Winfield, perhaps the most famous Marlboro Man died in 2015 at the age of 85. He portrayed the Marlboro Man from 1968-1989. His brother was a long time Bethelite named Marion "Bud" Winfield. Many ex-Bethelites probably remembered Bud as one of the receptionists at the 124 desk. Bud died in the year 2000 at the age of 65. My question is, Does anyone know if Darrell was raised as a Witness and left the religion early in life? I found an obituary page for him with a condolences section and some of the postings are 'witness like' in nature. It's interesting that he was a lifelong smoker and yet he lived 20 years longer than his 'morally clean' non-smoking brother.

Is Jesus Christ, Jehovah God? (Not the Father, but Equal to the Father)
by JW Answers injehovah's witnesses,is jesus christ, jehovah god?
(not the father, but equal to the father)what if the watchtower told you about god in a false way, and yet the bible taught you about god in his true character, how would you respond?could it be true, that the watchtower have been leading you up the garden path, describing god in a way that the bible does not describe?
please watch my latest video to help you to see how the bible describes the lord jesus christ, and also within my video, i explain from the new world translation how the bible which the jws use, also describes jesus as jehovah god.

Could you really trust the Governing Body to the right thing?
by no-zombie inover the years, many have speculated on how the governing body might reform the society into something that might actually bring some positivity in to the world ... and a resent melancholy moment, i re-watched the youtube clip of usa for africa's, 'we are the world' which was released in 1985. now while i know our men in warwick would never actually consider organizing the brotherhood to do something completely selfless in helping the truly worldly poor, something that would actually improve the religion's reputation ... but the question is ... could you really trust the governing body to run an aid program like usa for africa or band aid, without skimming from the top?.

Of course we can trust the 'Slave Class'. How do we know? Because they told us we can! : "There are many reasons why the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class (2) Jesus trusts the slave class." -Watchtower 2009 . Circular, self aggrandizing and unprovable self promotion taken to the highest level. Remember folks, you can't out bullshit a bullshitter and these men should know.

they changed it a year ago
by galaxie injust spoke to an elder at the carts, whilst discussing the gb (faithful slave) he informs me they are nowpart of the 'domestics'?
anyone have any 'new light' on this?.

When the individuals on the Governing Body meet collectively and decide doctrine, they are the 'Faithful Slave' serving food at the proper time.
When the individual members are not collectively meeting as the 'Faithful Slave' then they become domestics receiving 'food at the proper time'.
It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase: 'self-serving individuals.'

Remember the Wife of Lot
by Addison0998 infor family worship last night, our family watched remember the wife of lot movie since it will be discussed in the meeting this week.
there’s a few things i noticed that i didn’t think about last time i watched it.. first, the dad is very of course against his daughters going to college or even trying to find a good job.
yet he does accounting, which is a very good job that almost always requires a college education.

The bridge
by truthwillsetyoufree inso my father, who is an active jehovah’s witness, told me yesterday of an experience currently doing its rounds amongst the witnesses in relation to cart witnessing.
there is a bridge called ‘the bridge’ which is a well known place for people committing suicide.
apparently the jws have been setting up there literature carts there for a while now and ever since they have there has been no more suicide attempts from the bridge.

So let me get this straight:
Jehovah sends his cart workers to a 'suicide' bridge to save lives, while over the years hundreds of Bethelite's have had 'nervous breakdowns' and some of them have committed suicide right under Jehovah's nose at the 'House of God'? Not a very efficient life saving system if you ask me.
