Two For One!
by snugglebunny inback in the day - yeah, i know, most things i write start like that!
however - back in the day there was an implicit rule ratio of 2 to 1 when it came to counting time.
two witnesses witnessing to one person for one hour would count one hour each.

"Two For One!" - snugglebunny
I guess the "two witness" rule could even apply to the preaching work!

Will the Russian brothers start to wake up?
by nowwhat? inif i was a russian brother i would be wondering what exactly is the gb doing to help us out.
they are sitting in their lakeside corporate country club doing nothing while outside worldly agencies are making known our plight.
i found it puzzling that they flew out of russia like a bat out of hell as soon as the court rendered its decision leaving us high and dry.

If I could give your comment 100 thumbs up, I would slimboy. I agree...throw the everyday Watchtower 'cattle' under the bus but if it were one of their own, they would have been much more discreet in not 'poking the Russian Bear'. To pirate and parody Joseph Stalin's alleged quote: 'The arrest of one Governing Body member is a tragedy, the arrest of hundreds of Jehovah's Witness publishers is a statistic.'

March broadcast - Tightpants Tony wants to be filmed in action
by sir82 indid anyone else notice this?.
tony tightpants has the "morning worship" featurette in the march jw broadcast.. he appears to be hoping that someone will be videotaping the slaughter of 7 billion men, women, and children at armageddon.. quote is something like "we have some really good videographers here at bethel, but i don't think even they could capture what will happen.
still, all things are possible with god..." (not exact, but that is the gist).. and of course morris imagines himself as one of the "anointed", who will be the ones, per wt doctrine, to conduct the slaughter.. it takes a special kind of hubris, arrogance, and sadism to wish that you yourself could be filmed in the act of slaughtering billions of people.. i've encountered a lot of jws with "dark souls", but based on his public comments, i'd say morris has teh blackest one i've seen.. if he says stuff like this for broadcast to 8 million + jws, what does he say in private?

"...........so were sittin' around the Governing Body table last Wednesday and we were talkin' about makin' a new video about Armageddon. Ya know....killin' kids, old ladies, dogs and fags and stuff like that. We really got inta it. Finally, that dope Sanderson says : "Whose gonna play Jehovah in our new production?" I nearly pissed my pants when that egg-head Jackson volunteered to play God. I said, look Jackson you couldn't stand up to them fairies on that Royal Commission, how do you think you can stand up and coordinate the slayin' every living thing on earth for our new movie! Nope, I'm playin' Jehovah or you can count me out of this production. I sure showed 'em, didn't I kids?"

Fearmongering : The greatest ploy the Watchtower Society uses against its faithful members
by RULES & REGULATIONS in"shortly, within our twentieth century*, the "battle in the day of jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of jerusalem, christendom.
" (the nations shall know that i am jehovah; 1971; 2nd ed.
fearmongering or scaremongering is the spreading of frightening and exaggerated rumors of impending danger or the habit or tactic of purposely and needlessly arousing public fear about an issue.

Awake No. 2 2019 - Way To Destroy Your Childrens Hopes And Dreams Watchtower!
by pale.emperor innot that i spend much time on the cult's website, but i like to skim through their latest propaganda to make sure i'm up to date with their nuttiness.
(and when i say skim, i mean just that.
the wafer thin, dumbed down content can be read in like 2 mins flat).. i just had to share my thoughts on the above piece of trash.. no.

Taken on it's own, this article seems to present reasonable advice in helping your child become a productive and responsible member of human society at large.
Taken in the context of being raised (indoctrinated) as a child of Jehovah's Witness parents the information could be more succinctly presented as: LISTEN, OBEY and be BLESSED.

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?
at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.
once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

Jewelway.......my brother lost 10's of thousands of dollars on that scam. I didn't know that any Witnesses were involved in it. One of THE WORST, MOST DISHONEST AND CROOKED MLM schemes of all time.

The biggest pyramid scheme of them all was Pastor Russell's idiotic theological 'wet dream' that eventually morphed in the religion known as Jehovah's Witnesses. That scheme hooked us all either willingly through personal religious conversion or was imposed upon us by our family of origin. Needless to say, there never was any payoff to the scheme for those of us who were unfortunate enough to get involved.

I see a setup for perpetual reporting of a 'return visit' on her monthly service report. Now every time she goes into the thrift store and see's the same employee that was polite to her, she can just say hello to her and count it as a 'return visit'. Perhaps it will even morph into a 'doorstep bible study'............!

Is The Watchtower Society Just Copying The Mormon's Model?
by pale.emperor inwhen i was a faithful jw i was pretty much obsessed with the mormon religion.
to me it was like lord of the rings.
i knew the characters, the history, the events, the joseph smith stories, the religion's history etc etc etc and i long suspected even then that the watchtower society has been copying certain things from the lds church.. for example, the first thing i noticed was when the book study was dropped and family worship was started.

I don't know too much about the 'Mormons' , but do the missionaries have to report their field service time also? These cartoons seems to imply that:
