its not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

As an almost born in (my mother converted when I was around 2 years old) I have seen what this religion does to people. It makes the mentally and emotionally unstable and vulnerable WORSE! My mother NEVER EVER planned for the future and pissed away every dollar that came her way. Even on her deathbed in the year 2000,she thought that Armageddon was only a few weeks away and if she just held on she would live to see the New System. My sisters and I supported her for her entire life and she was given money by her parents until they both died. She worked a few years as a bus driver, a few years in a factory and a few years as a cashier. When her mother and great aunt died she got an inheritance of between $70,000.00 to $95,000.00 and that money was gone within a few years. After she died I found out that she was about $14,000.00 in debt because the credit card companies were trying to sue me for payment! In my opinion, there are many Jehovahs Witnesses that are very UNSTABLE and they are like a drowning person; if you get too close to them they will pull you down with them! ( Please don't take offense......I don't know your parents and I am only relating what happened to me.)

i have been out of the jw organization for some 22 years now and i sometimes get a reminding jolt out the hoops that some will jump through to make their religion make sense to them.
the first line in this post is what a jw on the street here in salinas told me on saturday when trying to justify the society's history of false prophecies.
I too have heard 'intent' thrown around and used as a justification by Jehovahs Witnesses for their foolishness. Perhaps they should educate themselves on exactly what the meaning of the word INTENT is in a legal sense.
i have words that irritate me and not always without reason.. my latest hate is the word: 'solutions' as used by so many businesses in their title these days.
y'know, 'something innane business solutions' and such balderdash.. i loathe that word now.

evidently jesus was stating a principle here in matthew that he intended true christians to apply to all aspects of their lives and not just their eyes.

All kidding aside.........the sock issue is nothing new. I know of an ex-elder who disassociated himself and his family over 10 years ago. Part of his exit was triggered when he was counseled on wearing 'inappropriate' socks that were not fit for an Elder. NO JOKE!
