Bethelites bought shotguns in the local hardware stores.
And on top of this, an old, old Bethelite told me that all the automobiles and trucks were 'rigged' for riot control. The vehicles had their magnetos or generators wired to their frames. If anyone touched the vehicle, the driver would 'rev' up the engine and give that person one hell of a shock.

i have been a jw my whole life and i have never been able to get a clear answer on this question.
jw's do not believe that jehovah will intervene if someone is sick, dying or stopping a car crash.
they feel that jehovah is letting "this world" play out before he solves all of these problems.
Actually, Janus is the most practical of gods. He always helps you to look both ways before crossing the street, thereby keeping pedestrian and auto accidents to a minimum!
