Nice short story, Terry. Seems to be an interesting retelling of this excellent documentary. It's certainly worth a look.

Do you have / admire Charisma?

as a kid i was afraid of such charisma, as it was usually the quality i noticed elders, head masters, and parents had to exercise with unloving authority over me.. but now i think about it "charisma" doesn't need be only for people with authority.
" charisma" is something even we can have?

Looking at this video with Dr. Angel Fierro and I'm cringing.
by Island Man ini'm cringing because the video is very empty in the way of presenting any credible evidence or logical reasoning for rejecting evolution in preference for creationism.
but it's not the only reason.the video wreaks of propagandistic manipulation.
first, angel gives very stereotypic reasons for why he accepted evolution in the past.

You are so right, Thisismein1975................the masses will eat out of your hands when a so-called expert, dressed in the appropriate garb, gives his 'professional' opinion. Mass media (including religious mass media) are experts at selling their 'product' to an unsuspecting public.

where have the demons gone?
by aboveusonlysky indoes anybody remember some of the sensational demon stories jw's would tell back in the day?
i was a kid in the early 80's and i remember a few times hearing of people having real life encounters with demons.
for example, one sister claimed that before she became a jdub she would regularly talk to demons and they would even fix stuff like her washing machine!

Maybe most of the demons have gone apostate from their 'mother organization'. They probably became discouraged when the 'demon governing body' kept pressuring them to put more and more haunting and terrorizing time on their 'monthly service report'. Third and fourth generation demons are now waking up to the fact that their 'haunting' has done little good and they are now tired of the 'busy work' . Perhaps after having learned 'the truth about the demon truth' they just gave up and started living a normal demon life?

Great building design!If it doesn't work out as a Jehovah's Witness 'educational center' , the Governing Body(tm) can always sell it to the DOLLAR GENERAL store chain.
I think 'Brother' Rankin used 'theocratic warfare' when he described the building as an 'educational center'. It could more appropriately called an 'indoctrination center'.
