it's been awhile since i've been talkative.
thought i'd give you an account of my latest family dysfunction.. a brief backstory is that i am an only child whose parents were born in jw's.

Sounds just like my mother! She was viciously criticizing me right up to her death in the hospital! Lots of cruel and unchristian parents were produced by the Watchtower doctrine. I have complete empathy and sympathy for you having to grow up in a dysfunctional family system. At least we survived and thrived the best we could without intentionally hurting others. That a very interesting observation. In comparing the Aid book to the Insight book on the entry of Expelling, the Insight book completely leaves out the following paragraph that was found in the Aid book:
"Jesus gave full instructions to his followers as to the procedure on handling cases of sin in the congregation and indicated that it could result in one's being expelled, so that the individual would be to the congregation 'just as a man of the nations and a tax collector.' (Matt. 18-15-17) Tax collectors were much looked down upon; many were extortioners. A Jew who was a tax collector was considered a renegade, classed with sinners. (Mark 2:16) Of course, Jesus and his disciples were still under the Law, but in principle the same procedure continued to guide the Christian congregation. It might be remarked here that, by the 'congregation' , Jesus did not mean that the entire membership sat in judgment of the offender; the responsible ones in charge did this. Sorry to inform you but you have not coined a new word.
on a previous post mamacita29 pointed up the low quality of new jw converts.. is the quality falling even more as the society use lower than low meeting, talks, broadcasts etc.. when i was active initially the organisation and standards seemed totally different today.
i have seen hard working intelligent elders fall by death or exhaustion.
the younger generation that came along never really grasped responsibility hence shortage of good elders, never mind the watered down to almost nothing quality of meetings.
my 'still in' family is passing this pic around facebook like proud parents.

Why the dislike on the photos of Pastor Russell and Professor Irwin Cory? I think new boy made a 'spot on' observation. As a side note, Professor Cory was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1914!
