Oh my god, I'd actually forgotten about the written review. I used to like the true and false section.
My mum and sister always used to swat up and get all the answers right, freaks!!
I always used to run out of time and had to guess the last few. I never paid any attention at the meetings beforehand so for the questions that required long answers were a complete mystery to me. I didn't know they'd ditched the written review. They just keep making stuff easier, like reducing the pioneer hours etc.

Remember the Written Review
by 30girl inwhat exactly was the purpose of the written review?
it was extremely helpful that the society warned you on the calendars which night you had to skip... we had those boards that they passed out so you had a good writing surface, often covered with witness grafiti like, jesus or jehovah or something biblical.
remember the little grading sheet on the back; excellent, very good, good -- was there a poor?

My son is in love with a puzzle
by mrsjones5 inyesterday i bought my son (he's 2, soon to be 3 tomorrow) a $1 puzzle of united states.
i bought it because we have a much bigger floor puzzle of the us but it's too big for him to keep trying to put together, it gets in the way.
he instantly fell in love with the puzzle.

Why call themselves "Christian"?
by poppers innever having been a jw i don't quite understand why they call themselves "christians".
if jesus is not god and is not to be worshipped as such, but is something "lesser", then it doesn't make sense to think of themselves as christians.
to claim to be christian, then, seems to me to make themselves hypocrites from the very beginning.

Left behind...or forgotten?
by lisavegas420 ini'm nearly 45 years old, an entirely different person than i was when i was df'd at 25 years of age.
i haven't had a phone call, no letters, no jw visits.
my parents don't call, nor my siblings.

Just imagine that one of your scenarios really happened, that you died and noone informed them of your death.
Imagine that they somehow found out a couple of years later that you had passed away.
Do you know what they'd do, they'd blame you!!!!
You couldn't even win from beyond the grave. If YOU hadn't been df'd then none of this would've happened.
They treat you as if you're dead when you're alive but you're the one at fault because you left Jehovah. And this is from the organisation that claim to be true christians and are known for 'the love they have among themselves'.
Lisa, whether you have been left behind or forgotten is immaterial. You are better off not knowing or caring because they are the furthest thing away from true christians that this earth has ever known.
We all love ya anyway. XXX -

A Suicide - the family's thank you note
by Fatfreek ina local man, a non-jw church member, committed suicide last week.
my wife, as usual, prepared a covered dish and took it to their house as an expression of sympathy and to help out.
she just received a thank you card from them and i thought i'd share part of it: .
